Usually, it's just for the sake of dragging things out longer. Sometimes it's because the developer learns a lot during development and is able to actually do everything over in a much improved way (often when it's their first or second project). Why not just finish the game in its original form, then do a remake? It's like changing horses in the middle of a river.
It's a shame he still hasn't learned to finish what he startedUsually, it's just for the sake of dragging things out longer. In this case? Who the hell knows...
He’s doing exactly what he done last time his followers started waking up and calling him out - hide.Wow the reception to that last post was so bad he called in support lol.
I'm Okay with him just asking Chat GPT to just finish the game at this point. This delay because of the paper doll...it's a paper doll. It's a good paper doll, but the greatest paper doll the universe has ever seen is the cherry, not the sundae. It's not worth a second of delay. Strip it out completely or replace it with the pre-reboot one and you lose nothing notable. It's another bad joke.
Now, I understand why they're doing it. Crush has stated that he intends to make licensing of the paper doll a separate revenue stream. He thinks there's massive money in it. The thing is, the trend is away from hand-drawn paper dolls and toward AI-generated avatar art, which is much cheaper and much faster. I don't love AI avatar art, but I can tolerate it just fine if it means the game is getting more and faster updates.
AI-generated in-game art still makes me throw up in my mouth a little though.
It is definitely to drag it out further. We had pretty much reached the end of the road for the MC as just a bartender. Fucked the manager multiple times, fucked his friends, fucked the boss, gets horny ever shift and can't even pretend to be embarrassed anymore, got sign off from the CIA to do whatever. It was time for the MC to be a full on prostitute, which signals the beginning of the end of the game. Rather than spend the last two years working on final chapters, he restarted to avoid tackling a major story event and keep the gravy train rolling indefinitely.Usually, it's just for the sake of dragging things out longer. I disagree. Crush has stated multiple times that everything before Kate bargirls is prologue. That's right: more than seven years, multiple reboots, and we're still in the fucking prologue. The story hasn't even started yet. The problem is not that having her bargirling would be the beginning of the end, it would be the beginning of the beginning. And Crush is shit-terrified even to take that step.It is definitely to drag it out further. We had pretty much reached the end of the road for the MC as just a bartender. DAMN. He should just do himself and everyone else a favor and just GIVE UP already... geez. I remember him saying something about wanting the game to be basically "open-world" or some such nonsense. There's no way he'd be capable of that.I disagree. Crush has stated multiple times that everything before Kate bargirls is prologue. But wouldn't being a bargirl already be a low point? What do you mean by "the beginning of the beginning"?The problem is not that having her bargirling would be the beginning of the end, it would be the beginning of the beginning.
It's not about low points or high points. The story, as Crush has repeatedly said, is about Kate trying to catch Devilfish through bargirling and other forms of sex. Every single thing before that is prologue...OK, everything except the Lifepath he's spent the last 18 months (likely to be close to two years before anything gets released) working on -- that's a prologue to the prologue. This whole thing is bullshit all the way down. But wouldn't being a bargirl already be a low point? What do you mean by "the beginning of the beginning"?
I also assumed that, by accepting the riskier and more "personal" job offered by Lu, the bad guy would show up and bring the mission/game closer to its denouement.
P.S: does anyone remember the old version, where the original mission involved being a bargirl from the start, and where the agency even forced her to work as a sex worker for three nights in a row?
It was so different that I refuse to believe it was written by the same person.
I would say that the Lifepath is supposed to be the prologue, and bar girling is more Chapter 1.It's not about low points or high points. Can't wait for the how I met your mother style prologue to the prologue to the prologueIt's not about low points or high points. You might be underselling how important the doll is to the game. There are no 2D or 3D rendered sex scenes (to my knowledge). There isn't real porn like in most HTML games. The only thing making this eye catching HTML game is the writing and avatar's facial and dress reactions to what's happening in the game (probably why Crush favors short, 3 sentence passages). This delay because of the paper doll...it's a paper doll. The other reason he favors short, three-sentence passages is so that he can do the least possible work while still telling everyone he wrote eleventy-wabjillion pages. You might be underselling how important the doll is to the game.
