I like how when he was told that he could just pause billing on Patreon until he is back to publishing consistently again, which plenty of other creators had done when they enter a time when they won't update for a while, he says that if he did it as a side gig "it would take even longer".

Like, he could at least remove all the memberships above "Recruit" since aside from offering the current(ly very old) version and being allowed to comment on the posts there's no reason to pay more than that dollar, a few weeks back someone complained that he payed for the 10$ beta and hasn't received anything, and while Crush DID return the pledge (After he was called out in public) the offer to be an "Operator" is still there.

If someone is willing to give him more than 1$ then that's their money, but if he wants to prove he is not grifting he should remove the false advertising, just put "Currently you get no extra benefits", and only bring them back when he is anywhere close to releasing anything.
If it looks like a scammer, and walks like a scammer, and scams like a scammer, it's a scammer.

Ah, where do we even begin with Crush? Let’s take a stroll down memory lane. Back in Trump’s first term, our beloved dev rebooted his Lifepath? project under the grandiose banner of the MFAGA plan (Make Fictional Activity Great Again). Fast forward a few years, and he promised to "do better" with the Lifeless Path? MOABS plan (Mother of Acting Busy Seriously). Spoiler alert: he didn’t.

The last actual release was on 24 November 2023, and since then, it’s been a slow crawl to nowhere. Here’s the kicker: the forum rules slap an "abandoned" tag on projects after 18 months of inactivity (that’s 78 weeks, for those keeping score). And yet, his current "plan" involves rewriting 77 scenes—yes, scenes he had already removed from a prior version. At a generous pace of 1 scene per week, we’re looking at a release date of 16 May 2025.

At this point, I’m convinced he’s just trolling his supporters. The man’s frazzled, and clearly not eating or drinking (except maybe the tears of his fanbase). Honestly, he needs to spice up his excuse game. Here’s a freebie:

While you wait, here's a real drinking game called S.I.P. (Savouring Idle Promises) -
  • "Soon™ and Overpromising":
    • Every time Crush uses the word Soon™ or hints at unrealistic timelines (e.g., "this should've been done last week, but..."). Take a sip. (Bonus: Chug if they blame multitasking for the delays.)
  • "Reworking and Rewriting":
    • When they talk about reworking, rewriting, or scrapping something they’ve already worked on before. *Sip. Twice if they call the previous version 'shit' while quoting Hemingway or someone iconic.
  • "Off-Topic Tech Adventures":
    • Any mention of tech detours (AI photo generation, open-sourcing code, or a task completely unrelated to their original timeline). Take two sips. (If they use a crab emoji while doing so, add a third sip for good measure.)
Seems like even 18 months was too tight a timeline for this project manager, and now it's all Victoria's fault we don't have any beta. If only things like artwork could be drawn in parallel to writing / coding... but yeah, 18 months is too little time to produce something Hot™.

Such a coincidence though, that there's something playable the same week there's an Abandoned tag. See you in 2030!

There's nothing playable playable. He's been sending this half-builds to his small coterie of playtesters for years now. It's not an indication that a release is imminent. My guess is it's going to be at least another few months, and I wouldn't be all that shocked if it's six months.

That's what Blue Swallow is.
Honestly, I don't think so: lately, you've also been focusing more on changes to what was done before than on the further development of the plot. Also, the story suffers from being overloaded with unnecessary details, but what's worse is that most of it (including the sex scenes) is very "mechanical" and emotionless, as if the MC doesn't feel anything and acts like a robot. With all of Crush's obsessive perfectionism, he definitely has a better sense of how to create an emotional response with his writing and still be concise.
And speaking of the writing style in Blue Swallow, I find it very unnatural that, regardless of MC's life path, her narrative sounds like she's a writer with a college degree , even if I choose her to be a local gang's whore who barely graduated from high school.

Above all, you've had to sift through these half-baked posts for months, repeatedly experiencing the same mistakes, only to then perhaps encounter a few new sentences on three of the 300 slides.

In return, the weekly transparency posts feature boastful speeches about the testers' great feedback. Crush has the amazing gift, much like Trump, of living in his own world and allowing only his own perspective to prevail, according to the motto:

"Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It just shouldn't differ from mine."

Without putting CassieBare down, I would only agree that both FA and Blue Swallow will suffer from the reality of branching choices, which essentially is Sintrell's feedback about college educated gang whore. Maybe streamline the number of variables (I would suggest a total of 3-5 max) and paths, then map it out in a flowchart to X number of distinct endings? So it doesn't end up in dev hell like FA please.

Also, no need to stroke Crush's ego further, he WAS a greta writer and probably has a real talent but his sheer inability to actually produce anything is starting to show (remember the disastrous BJ scene?) Cassie, on the other hand, is diligently putting out CONTENT so I'm very confident the writing will only get better. Heck, it's already hot, stable and doesn't have placeholder art.

It's absolutely true that practice makes perfect, and my money is on only one of these games to ever get a complete tag.

The linked article is very interesting. The only problem is that Crush (supposedly) writes a lot and (supposedly) learns a lot from his attempts, so he should be assigned to Group 1 and, accordingly, have already delivered a perfect result. I think I need to get new glasses because I can't see anything.

Crush writes and learns a lot according to Crush. There is not now and never has been empirical evidence to support this contention.

18 months of learning to make a update.

My dude at this pace of learning will be the next NASA director and will bring humanity to stablish a colony in Uranus soon.

This actually got me curious. Did you know there are more than 10 html games here with threads that were made since November 2023 (aka 18 months (I stopped going through threads when I got to 10 but over half of the games marked as complete since then were still left)), that are marked as complete? Sure not all of them are great, and only a few are what I would personally care to play, but more than 10 people managed to start, update, and finish a game since the last time Crush put out anything of note.

Not to name names, but this is why I'm generally pretty positive about a creator in another thread, whose game has also gotten the "abandoned" tag, and will defend them to an extent: because they usually pause their Patreon billing so I don't feel like they're trying to cheat anyone, just struggling to get the product out. Which... fair enough. Life happens.

I don't defend Crush though, as despite the fact that I liked his writing, it's clear he's drowning and has no ability to complete this game in a satisfactory manner, yet instead of being honest with his patrons, or at least pausing billing while he develops some self-awareness, he's merrily bilking them.

New report on patreon out, and once again something is being sold as new that already existed.
That's it. The most important thing of all. The release date. Not announced, so soon.

Today I played the new snippet that was released yesterday only to certain people.
Crush himself says that it still has problems, but if you find a comment every fourth page at the latest that something is missing or needs to be revised, then I repeat my prediction: See you in 2030

By the way, this is what a girl who just turned 18 looks like. Was that before or after the party?
I know art is hard (and I couldn't do it better either, I'm barely a step above drawing stick figures), but if you showed me that without context I'd think she's a late 40s woman who's had a botched botox appointment

There's only one really "similar" game and its Blue Swallow.
There may be dozens of other "girl sims" and "girl spy thrillers" out there, but none of them is nearly as POV-heavy and well written as these two imo.
I've played Blue Swallow but iirc there isn't much content outside of the prologue, which in itself is pretty long
