Well, as I said, it was a long shot. But, something could still fall through the cracks...maybe.I overthink things normally, but that goes double here (since it's a spy game.)

Consequences don't just have to be bad either"consequences for sending amateur porn of yourself to your colleagues
These are not her co-workers, per se (that is, they aren't the Operation Neptune folks). That's the problem. These are intel people, who knows that the MC is an agent, but don't know that she is actually MI6 or CIA or AIS or whatever and don't know what operation she is on. They'd have no reason not to pass on (among themselves and without saying when or where they were taken) pictures of some chick who got recruited to bug the arms dealer's phone and then, "poor girl," got pornos of herself broadcast to whoever runs 1941 Ogilvie Road. They'd think it a riot. Eventually, someone could see these pictures who knew her, and good luck trying to keep THAT story under wraps.During the side quest at the hotel with the weapons dealer it isn't that her pics get leaked, but that she can bug the phone so her coworkers can see everything on it and then the first thing her coworkers see are lewd nude photos of her. These are people she has to work with and who know her true identity. At the very least that will likely affect her career and reputation in the intelligence community.
Excellent point. Thanks! These are not her co-workers, per se (that is, they aren't the Operation Neptune folks). That's the problem. After all, a lot of the Operation Neptune people have already seen her engage in sex several times. Her current co-workers, then, aren't the problem.
It's a fun little scenario, and I'm glad I played around with these options until I got it. There should be a price for that, though.
Thanks for more clarity on this. I knew there had to be some(possible)blowback from this little escapade.Eventually, someone could see these pictures who knew her, and good luck trying to keep THAT story under wraps.

Ah! So it is going back to her home security service. I was under the impression that it was some Five Eyes type anti-arms-smuggling task force. So it's worse than I thought: the people getting this are her own national colleagues, who can't help but laugh at the way she has been hoist with her own petard.FYI. 1941 Ogilvie Road is the address for the CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Service) headquarters. I assume that if your female spy is from a different country that data goes to your head office.
AWESOME post Mimx, thanks for all the great ideas and observations.Couple of thoughts from me-
No commentary on the Agents height from the team? Wouldn't her being particularly tall or short make her stand out more? I also find it strange if she is so tall, plus heels, that this isn't a specific turn off or turn on for some guys. (Some people and their egos I swear.)
Why is Agent always defaulted to stay with the mother, growing up? Why can't her parents be divorced, and she has connections to both of them still? Pretty sure some people would be down for step-sibling drama.
Siblings wise- so far I've only seen one comment about an older sister in dialogue, and how it affects creation of random hookups/dating partners. How do the other siblings add to the story?
Could we potentially grow up with another language, besides one additional? I suppose this could be expanded when adding new race/region backgrounds though.
Would love a playthrough of the agents first time, and potentially choosing if her first time happens with her first boyfriend.
No bushy bikini lines.
No clitoral piercings for rough sex/promiscuous agent?
I'd love way more tattoo options- a sleeve for a rock chick, a tramp stamp also available for a promiscuous agent, generic butterfly for alpha female, maybe something in binary for the nerd, so on. I'd sooooo love to be able to cover an agent in tattoos. (I know not very likely for someone going undercover, but this game is about fantasy fulfilment, right?)
Something that may be very hard to implement- I did a playthrough where my agent had a strong preference for women, and all her serious relationships (besides hardcoded boyfriends) were women. With an active interest and preference for women (bisexuals can have preferences, though not all do, as per the Kinsey scale), would she be at all able to ever voice this, even in internal dialogue?
Could we have more options for choices in studying? So far all I've seen commentary wise on what the agent studies is the option to translate something in Latin if she studied law-
Which in itself brings me to another line of thinking- why can't a poor background but academic agent roll for scholarships at the fancier schools? Or as a youth, an academic agent potentially got scholarships to get to better schools growing up. (Boarding school shenanigans?) Also, a richer background agent could very well have learned Latin at a fancy school, at least a decent smattering (moreso depending on whether she is a nerd or not) that could be implemented.
I think it would be cool, if in a relationship with a lecturer, job offer wise, if the agent could apply to be a teachers aide or assistant for him.
Could tinder hook ups commentary include women in it, please? ^^
Birthday kink vignette, you'd think the partner would comment if the agent had pierced nipples?
Will other vignettes come up instead of the episode with the boyfriend and graduation ceremony sex? Feels very exhibitionist agent coded. Could this also happen with a girlfriend instead?
No kinky moments with the glasses yet? (But I have such a glasses thing ): )
It would also be really cool if the agent could actually remain attached to their college partner? They don't break up, so in the years before the mission (if there are any), the agent remains committed. Imagine explaining this scenario to a partner. It could lead to a break up, or a commitment for marriage down the line. It could also be a source of strength for the agent to keep going, or cause her to repeatedly doubt her commitment, and their relationship. This could be influenced if the agent is promiscuous, and they were potentially in an open relationship, or swinging, or maybe she's even polyamorous.
There's dialogue with 'your boss liked that/Sloan/Novak/etc liked that'. Could we potentially have had an implied relationship with the boss, or have an encounter with Clark/Sloan/so on? Or Bettis?
Edit: It would also be cool to take the groping bouncer home. XD
Annndddd that's about it for now.
This has been requested a few times before, so thanks for pushing it back into conversation. I'm certainly not opposed to it if we can make it work; my reservation is that I can't really see how a prudish agent would (a) get picked for this or (b) agree to it? Let me know if you have any thoughts on how we could make that work.Crushstation - is there any chance that we can be more active in losing the agent's virginity? Like, having a super prude-ish agent who is now asked to become an undercover hooker and loses her v-card because of it. IDK just a thought.
I like this idea. We've already experimented with a kind of reputation system in the game (your final debriefing with Olivia and Clark varies slightly based on your dialogue and decisions) and this is something I'd like to develop in the future. And also I hope we have some system for reputation when we get to Bangkok. Or maybe even starting from the lifepath. Like for example, people could catch on on the agent exhibitionist tendencies, or she could get "famous" for being a dominatrix in Bangkok, and people should react to it.
This is a good point; maybe I need to open up all the attributes to +-3 so the weighting is balanced. Thanks gobbetPart of the problem, I think, is that the attribute modifier is, as far as I understand it, limited to -1/0/+1. This makes your attributes not very important, and worse, it means if one of them, say attractiveness for example, is most important, it drags your overall roll down, because the best you can hope for with that stat is +1.
I could see an agent who lost dad in the World Trade Center being willing to do whatever it takes. This has been requested a few times before, so thanks for pushing it back into conversation. That can probably lead to "daddy issues", causing the MC to look for that lost bond with someone else. Especially, if her and her father had a loving relationship and she has the "likes older men" trait.I could see an agent who lost dad in the World Trade Center being willing to do whatever it takes.
$pc.intelligence.scoreI wish to modify attributes, which vairables exactly should I change to do so? I keep messing up intelligence, attractiveness, coordination, and confidence.
In general, I think that's right. Take, um, astronomy as an example. Going from 0 to 1 is a much bigger change than going from 1 to 2.This means that any player trying to maximize their chances will always seek the path that gives them the +1 in the most skills, even though that's not how we really live our lives. Going from 0 to 1 in any skill at all, regardless of profession, is overwhelmingly more important than going from 1 to 2 in any skill related to a profession.
Unskilled. A character without any rating in a skill is "Unskilled". If they try and use the skill, they do so at a -4 penalty to their d10 roll. Example: a character with no rating in the "Ride Motorbike" skill has never or hardly ever ridden a motorbike.
Level 0: Rookie. The character has basic familiarity with the skill. Example: a character with Ride Motorbike (0) has enough motorbike experience to pass a motorcycle test. People have this level of skill in their hobbies, their secondary job functions, or professional skills that have gone rusty.
Level +1: Professional. The character has had at least 6 months of practical experience using the skill. Example: a character with Ride Motorbike (+1) has been a biker for at least 6 months. The average person has this rating in the main skills they use to make their living, and in their main hobby.
Level +2: Veteran. The character has extensive practical experience and holds some position of authority or accomplishment based on this skill. Example: a character with Ride Motorbike (+2) might race motorbikes, or be a police motorcyclist, or a civilian instructor. The average manager or instructor has this level of skill.
Level +3: Elite. The highest level of skill a randomly generated NPC might possess. This character is so accomplished that others seek out and accept his advice. Example: a character with Ride Motorbike (+3) might be a champion racer, or a police instructor. Few people reach this level of skill in any discipline.
Level +4 to +7: Expert. NPCs this skillful are too rare to be encountered randomly. They are acknowledged experts in their field and may have written books or appeared on TV about it. Example: a character with Ride Motorbike (+4) or greater could be such an accomplished racer that they appear on sports TV as a pundit.
Level +8 to +10: Legend. Characters at this level are the great talents of their generation and the masters of their field. Examples of characters with Ride Motorbike (+8) or higher: Joey Dunlop, Valentino Rossi.
The reason for the -4 is that someone who actually has training or experience in a task shouldn't just have an incremental advantage over a total novice. Without it, someone with Coordination +1 would be just as good a shot as an agent who'd completed CIA field officer training at Camp Peary; that doesn't seem right. This problem would not arise if skills just added their level to the die roll and a skill level zero was just one that added nothing.
One of the things I'm trying to capture is the pen-and-paper RPG vibe, so complex skill rolls are a part of that. In general I think the extra effort is probably worth it. If we over-rely on the RNG then the player's choices in crafting their character get devalued. The problem with "dueling skills," while I like the idea a lot, is that you'd have to establish skills for the target all the time. I'm content with the RNG telling me that the prof was skilled enough to detect the MC's line of bullshit; it doesn't matter to the story whether the MC failed because the prof had a good bullshit detector, or was gay and thus not swayed by the sexy dress, or was just tired of coeds trying to weasel a better grade. If you want to randomize the reason for failure in the outcome report for "flavor" purposes, that would work and would be a lot easier than establishing skill levels for every RNG target.
thank you very much, much appreciated, truly. Keep up great work, I look foward to how this game evolves and gains depth. Enjoyable concept and work thus far.$pc.intelligence.score
