why I still use win 7 ?
many reason .. the main one is that it's compatible with a lot of old game I love to play , and win 10 is not
other reason are purely aesthetic , I don't like the look of win 10 , I don't like the fact that it's super hard to personalize it , like remove the volume osd , or have a good looking start menu of files explorer
it have no respect for the privacy , it have adds everywhere and it's full of bloatware and sponsored app

You quoted my post, and asked yourself a question and then answered it. A question that I never asked. I would certainly upgrade, but you can use windows 95 if you want to, none of my business and if you like it, do it. And yes there is certainly good reasons to not use windows 10.


But 2-3 pages ago we all tried to fix your problem with the game, everyone in here tried to help you...until you finally mentioned that you were using Windows 7, even though on the main itch.io download page in big fat letters it says " Currently for Windows 10 (64bit) only! ".

and I did mention that I tried to put the game on a win 10 pc and it didn't work either

I think the problem come from the memory ( RAM ) the game use , just check the absurd amount of memory in the task manager , the game doesn't respond but the memory usage keep increasing anyway

the problem if you clear the appdata folder is that you loose all the saves and persistent files with stats ?

oh and do you use win 7 ? lot of people with this problem use win 7

No, I use Windows 10 and I still have this memory bloat issue. Also my old saves won't load anymore, even when waiting after a couple minutes and trying to reset the AppData folder. Maybe the game will have this load issue fixed in the next patch.

The developer has worked on memory issues in one of the latest patches - and that helped some users, but it seems not all of them. I haven't experienced any slow loading in the latest version while I have had in one of the previous ones.

I doubt that. The game runs fine for most. The small amount of people who have issues is very vocal about it, which is understandable because they want to play it and can't enjoy it because of the issues.

There was a big poll on darktoz' patreon when he patched it to the newest version, and this are the results

So I wouldn't get my hopes up too high that he will spend much more time on performance fixes.

Perhaps it more often affects people who modify game saves. I've modified things like Energy, Money & Willpower multiple times. If that's not applicable then I'm quite sure what is causing this.

Extract the archive and open index.html in your webbrowser. Runs here without problems - under Linux. Testet on 64 and 32bit systems. For best experience use Seamonkey browser. Should also run under every other os with a decent browser.
Funny is: used to work fine with Firefox/Chrome, but somehow stopped working in recent versions.

For savegames - which are stored in the webbrowsers local storage - you might want to enter about:config and set dom.storage.default_quota to a higher value. I have mine set to 10240.

Speaking about pirate sites and .exe files: it's safer than to start some game.exe anyway.

Wow, good post. It had not occurred to me that perhaps the software I am using to run the game is the issue. Currently, I use SWF File Player, unknown Version. I'll try to use other software and see if that helps, I don't use Linux though, I use Windows 10 Professional.
