It's actually impossible to not be able to access your room. If you don't have enough money, a pink haired girl will be near your building entrance. She will offer to pay your rent for that week if you take her experimental pill. Taking it severely drops your stats and experience in various fields though so best not rely on it too much.
Just do 1 or 2 double shifts at goodies that week and pay the rent as soon as you finish. Also remember to clean the hallway so the rent drops from 150 coins to 120 coins.

Sometimes people don't get that just because they don't like or understand a particular kink or fetish, doesn't mean that other folks can't enjoy it. I've seen at least one or two comments like that on almost every "niche" or non-typical porn game I've looked at; I was almost surprised to see it on this one though.
Hell, I'm into SOFTCORE content but whenever games like that get posted, a bunch of users complain and whine and whinge about it. (Same for spanking fetish games; where several times I've seen people rudely asking for blowjobs or other sex acts to be added because spanking by itself is "just a waste" and "pointless" to them. I also remember the same "is there any actual sexual content in the game or is it just spanking?" comment being repeated two or three times. Some people REALLY shit on pure fetishism games for sure.)
Most femdom games usually offer the player the means to turn off those kinks or avoid them outright too. So if femdom generally isn't their thing, then they really have no business complaining about it. Yea i get what you mean, i did gasp and think all my time had been wasted, but since i had gotten to the point where i had done most things in the game so far it was nice seeing everyone treat me from terrible to absolute dog shit lmfao. But glad it has been fixed though since it was a bit of demoralizer.
Maan i do that all the time. Like going to a Chinese and ordering Japanese food. I always get nasty looks they are so rude! =P
In my mind my morbid curiousity leads me to wonder what those skull girls do to you when you come out of the library. I have never gone there at night (I think someone mentioned that it was at the library) and now I am honestly never coming there at night ever again in this playthrough.
At least this game teaches lessons never to accept drinks from strangers.

Walk around at night and talk to the skullgirl sitting on the bench. Or talk to the 2 skullgirls standing my their hideout gates at the top left corner of the map.
