The original idea of Patreon(age) was that people donated (possibly on an ongoing bases) an amount of money to a person as a gift to help them create their work(s), the receiving person could choose to reward that kindness with some token like (early) access to the work(s).

At some point some of the donating people started to assume that they had more rights to the work(s) than they actually do.
eg. They wrongly assume they have the right to do what they like with (a copy of) the work(s).

Most VDG have actual replay value with actual branching paths. And certain games the date gifts actually do different things. Like you must not keep up with VDG stuff or something because they have drastically increased their quality of games in the past two years or so. While I have not seen anything like that from MNF games. Like it is laughable to compare the two.

You can sit here and be hyperbolic and unfairly denigrate VDG stuff, but at least it actually has real replay value and branching stories.

I spent my time in the trenches with these games and cringe a little when I look back on them. Like I said, they're barely above MeetNFuck level. The Bioware Branching Paths (TM) place them a notch or two above MnF's dreadful games, but that's really not a lot of breathing room at all.

I mean, at this point you lot can continue your post-purchase rationalization or you could accept that VDG shits out mediocre games with an assembly line process (either out of mercenary greed or sheer inability to do anything better), but what do I know, I'm a pleb who doesn't like VDG games.

One can like or not Tlero or Mortze games and you can think that they are too slow in their release, but surely they aren't moneygrabber.
Mortze produce an incredible amount of images, improving himself and this needs time and at this time he haven't reached the goal to dedicate all his time to this.
Tlaero has released free games for years, she has another job that she won't quit, she has decided to do Patreon after Mortze convinced her and all the money are for improving the game, above all she is also creating an engine for her game and for helping other authors (think of bew as game for example)

Seems like Patreon has claimed another victim, unfortunately. Tlaero & Phreaky's games of old were exceptional. They made them as labours of love, not for money, but now with Patreon Tlaero has gotten her head all warped in regards to giving patrons rewards of "value" and making money, which has lead to the release of a new game that is dwarfed by prior efforts that were made before Patreon corruption of creativity and work ethic. Sad, but to be expected with Patreon ruining many great developers of old. There are so many hacks on Patreon now, it's sad to see people that were once worthy of reverence like Tlaero now getting lumped in with the scam artists and never-were's that pollute that website.

I usually bored with vdategames as it fill with pointless text mud, but this one clearly had a gifted script-writer.
From the very start, the dialog catch my eyes. Really enjoy the story.

It is written by a woman. And many of her patrons are women, too. She even made the program she uses to put the game together.

Late to the reply, but imo they should scrap their own JS/HTML engine and uses either Renpy or Twine. Could probably improve the speed to develop thing.

Their engine have the worse UI out there and doesn't work well with chrome.

The latest version of the engine (used for this game) actually looks vastly improved, code-wise, vs the versions that vdategames are still using.

It would really only take a couple little tweaks to fix any more cross-browser issues and add quality of life tweaks (unlimited saves...)

Unfortunately it's still hard-coded with a lot of assumptions, like the extremely linear flow and the three text options per screen.

For some reason though I like having these games around even though they might be better able to innovate in RenPy.

I just don't get this... Right now I'm supposed to be timid so I try and select the timid answer, but there isn't always timid choices and I just find myself behind in points. After my second you would have seen sex here message I close the game pondering the time I just wasted for nothing...

The only game of the bunch I completed was "Redemption for Jessika" the rest I abandoned midway.

I hope this helped a bit. I've gotten the sex scenes way back upon release without much issue at all. The main key is just to save as much as possible and if a certain choice doesn't raise your score then restore it to where it saved and try again with a different response. And keep doing that. It's the most cautious way.

Let's cut the hyperbole here. Neither VDG games or Tlaero/Mortze games are incredibly impressive games. Tlaero's writing has never grabbed me, and while her games may be a higher level than your average porn game, that's where it stops.

Porn games are packed with one-man-band developers where the ability to articulate in basic English already means you're better than the average. Both VDG and Tlaero/Mortze games have their following because they do certain things relatively better than a very low-rent, unimpressive pack.

Click Start.HTML, when the game launches just hover your mouse of one of the flags and it changes the language.

What is this game about? it's good?

It's a series of stories all tied together, this is the third so far following Redemption for Jessica and Dreaming with elsa. There is another, Saving Chloe, being made now.

If you just want fap material then skip these they are heavily story based.

Just went through the three games over the last couple of games. There is a lot to like in this one, but it feels like it's a lot harder to find all the scenes this time around. I dunno if some scenes are route specific past the choice of dead wife or cheating wife, but I haven't seen the karen/chloe threesome, the dream wife sex, and I assume there is a way to do a threesome with the card girl and I haven't found that either.
