Sure thing, they've been a high priority for me for a while so I'll do what I can.

First of all I'm so sorry for taking forever with this update, I got a little too ambitious with how I approached this and had to re-do everything more times than I liked.

But the major change with this update is that games have been split up even further into individual game zips, no more giant packs to download; just download the games you want, run the script under Extensions > Scan Flashbang Library, and it'll show up in your library as installed. Download as little or much as you want and have fun building your own little collection.

Though this unfortunately means you will need to re-download previous games since the paths in the database have changed, this will make it a lot easier for me to add new games gradually, as well as fix or update existing games. Expect updates a lot sooner from now on.

I've also added new Content and Pairing tags to help filter the library even more, but haven't gotten around to applying them to every single game in the library and as such it's still a work in progress.

215 new flashes added, bringing up the total to 1806.

As always I'm super thankful to everyone that's been suggesting games, it helps a lot with motivation and though my backlog has increased exponentially I plan to get around to adding every suggestion for as long as you keep making them.

Thanks man! Looking forward to it! A certain 'party' website made heiwa's flash games accessible, which is unfortunate that it shut down. Some of their flash games seem to be in two parts if you try to download it from their website and sometimes the second parts don't function on their own basically gating you to the first part only.

Sorry if you're already aware of this, just wanted to give as much info as possible!

Edit: Oh, wow. That's a lot of downloading from megaupload. Has anyone been having troubles with broken downloads? I tried plugging the download link in to wget, and I get an error.

Edit 2: I've had the download window open and running overnight, and it's still only around 75% done. Something about the transfer allowance and needing to wait three hours before I can download more. Does this experience mirror how other people experienced the downloads?

Maybe we could set up some sort of torrent for the mass data? With the move over to modularly adding new flashes to the directory, we could probably have torrents that draw their files from the same directory. That is, torrent 1, the old torrent, would transfer files 1-4 from the directory. Torrent 2, the new one, would point to the same directory and be actively sharing files 1-5.

If you don't mine using a 3rd party tracker like maybe PirateBay, I might be able to set it up.

Did you remember to scan the library using the script after downloading and placing the games in the Library folder?

That's what I did. But it doesn't recognize games in the extracted folders.

Finally! After almost twenty hours, Mega is finished downloading, and I can pick where I want it downloaded. It still needs to download for a couple minutes, for some reason.

3. Download and extract Flashbang Database.zip and replace "Flashbang Beta\Flashbang\Database" with "Flashbang Database\Database"

I find this step very unclear. As written, the logic of the steps suggests that I am to replace everything from the "Flashbang Beta" folder downwards with the "Flashbang Database" folder. Since replacing the root folder would effectively delete everything, this seems really dumb.

Do you want me to instead replace the "Database" folder located in the "Flashbang Beta\Flashbang" folder with the "Flashbang Database" folder, which itself contains another folder named "Database"?

Sorry for the confusion, you just need to overwrite the empty Database folder in Flashbang Beta with the folder of the same name from Flashbang Database.

That's what I did. But it doesn't recognize games in the extracted folders.

You unzipped them and everything? Your Flashbang Library folder should look something like this:

Have you ever thought of making something lighter like Flashpoint Infinity? You know, for those with smaller hard drive space?

Currently the launcher plus database takes up about 2GB which is roughly the same size as Flashpoint Infinity when installed, with the bulk of that 2GB being taken up by the image data (around 1.5GB).

I could shrink it even further than that by compressing the image data from lossless PNG to compressed JPEG; which in my tests resulted in reducing that image data down to 350MB, at the cost of very noticeable compression artifacts. If you want I could offer this as an alternative version of the database if you need the space.

As for the games themselves... Well there's not really much I can do about that to save hard drive space, as they are already broken up into individual downloads. In the near future however, I hope to be able to add the ability to download all this from within the launcher itself; it should make for a cleaner all-in-one experience that way.

Tried Ruffle, not gonna lie : it's the worst... Porn bastards games turn into bugged screens with no reaction.

I can't use Supernova because of that. Am I missing something ?

So, with the new update does this mean that I'd have to redownload the whole flashbang library, if I had it all downloaded already? Or is there a way to convert my existing folders with all of the files, etc to the new library format?

Unfortunately yes, you'll have to re-download everything since the folder structure and file names have changed.
