Y'all ever have this experience where you suddenly found a creator who have made good stuffs and they compeletely slip under ur radar, you binged all their stuffs and wait eagerly for their next masterpieces, but then they release and they release and none of the new ones is the "this is it" anymore... like by the time you discovered this guy, he has already past his peak..

for me it's the opposite actually, the ones i followed keep making weirder and weirder stuffs but all i want is just "man i wish they make something like this 2016 or 2019 rather vanilla/tame video but with their accumulated skills up to this point"

Actually what happened at my end. I didn't have terabytes but too much imo so I started to delete a whole lot of it.
Low and behold at some point I realised that I was deleting a shit ton of lost media that you literally cant find anymore. We don't need the library of Alexandria incident for gooners so I just started moving it even if I don't open it anymore.

Nope, the reason I started doing that was exactly because of the fear of them disappearing, for me it started when some Japanese artists complained that their stuff was being pirated to E-Hentai after release quickly, so E-Hentai took down a TON of amazing scans, and no, that was before the existence of Fakku/Irodori etc

One of them is an artist called LINDA, the guy was genuinely at the time probably the best hentai artist and his stuff was revered online for the art style, in a single day nearly everything was taken down everywhere, from E-Hentai all the way to another forum called Akiba, it was a simultaneous take down and his stuff actually for a while became lost media, infact, some of his niche works DID become lost media, it was because he was popular a ton of people recommissioned and rescanned his stuff, I actually commissioned 3 of his works to be scanned and it's literally the scans that are shared today lol

Anyway, lots of examples like this, recently (well not that recent, like a year back?)

I found out BulgingSenpai, a prominent Final Fantasy/Tifa simp artist, had an alternative account where he was, let's say, creative.

It was all thanks to a great member here for even entertaining my request and sharing their works, because aside from that one single link on this forum, it's basically completely lost media. and that's from a big artist too, so imagine stuff from smaller artists...

This is even more prominent in JAV (Japanese real porn)

I have a video, from one of the most popular JAV actresses in Japan EVER, a literal superstar, that you simply can't find it online AT ALL, you have to buy the disc and rip it yourself, the forum that I got that video from, was completely shut down years ago, a fucking colossal loss to the JAV archiving scene, the JAV community actually never recovered from this loss, a generational fumble.

Anyway her name is Nao Jinguji, an amazing actress with very beautiful butt

Fellow hoarder Chad. It's not about gooning at this point, it's about preservation. Time and time again we have seen how the things we like or admire for the art of it get taken down, deleted, copyrighted etc. No matter what media/medium. This shit is very very important, especially nowadays.

Interesting. Fellow collectors. Personally I collect some of the stuff more as a trophy than anything. A lot of the time I run into something that people say 'cant be found', so I go a huntin'. Sort of challenge against the vault of the internet. Is it renamed? Flipped? Then once found, I snag usually, even if its not something particularly interesting to me. But I found it. That was the goal.

Shame for no update, but that just means more time for them to work on it until the next. Hopefully less pitchforks next round.

No no I also heavy resonate with this. When I started this type of shit it just grinded my gears how people were going through so many lengths to make this stuff inaccessible. "There's gotta be a way" I always thought and there always was a way. On many occasions it was mainly about getting your hands on it for the sake of beating the system. unfortunately that's not unusual to see. artists often get pulled into doing increasingly extreme stuff because it pays a LOT better than anything else. it's a common way for artists to burn out actually, since you are constantly being pulled between drawing what you like in poverty vs drawing ultra-realistic toes for someone you are pretty sure is a convicted sex criminal

i tend to get bizarrely specific interests that come and go. like i recall a single sex scene from a single amateur video i watched 10 years ago, and i MUST find it or all is lost. it's actually a pretty easy mood to dispel with even a little bit of conscious effort, but it's sort of fun to indulge sometimes lol. but having a collection makes finding those specific scenes possible when it often wouldn't be otherwise
