Every time i click "take a ride on pepper" or whatever it just says that i've got nowhere to go, though. What am I supposed to do?

Turn it one way until it clicks (or the eyes come on, I can't remember) Then turn it the other way I think.
i was able to activate the eye of the snake spin of the right side

Slave route - just keep visiting her at night. It's not a scene if that's what you're asking. It's more like a little joke.
Spin it right then. You'll see as long as you aren't holding ctrl that it goes click! when you do something right. Keep spinning it until until it doesn't say click! then do the actions in the same pattern that you were getting the click! until you hit the part where you failed and do the opposite action. It will go click! Do this until it lights up. It's the same thing from book 1 where you have to go through the mine to get the pornlove - where you have to go the right way and when you do it gets lighter.

so that's why some say this swamp part feels different..? Marty writing. there's the difference. makes me think, he could, in theory, solo finish the book. at a really slow pace, but if he gets it done by single sections, like this swamp part, could be done. iffy, but still.
