They can't give her the Equalist at the point they're at, nor are they supposed to.
They're supposed to get a dialog option to give her 100 coins, but it's broken and instead she says go get an Equalist, And you can't get the Equalist because the statue island is locked at that point.

I think everyone just needs to wait for version 0.8.5c... or, let's be honest here, 0.8.5h. They'll get there eventually, let them iron out these bugs and issues first. I was excited by the update as well, but if you've been playing this game for a while, you know that the a and b version is closer to an alpha and really hasn't ever been stable.

Sorry man, but that was like 2 years ago for most of us. There are several guides floating around if you search for ‘guide’ within this thread, or you can go on pornhub and watch one of the walkthroughs and find what you missed doing.

So, I just went for an older version, 0.8.4c, to look where the problem lies if you start from scratch with 0.8.5b.

It is indeed the money you have to give to the police chief, the 100 coins. With the newest version this option just never appears and she is asking straight for getting the Equatist.

What should happen: she asks for the money, you do that stupid minigame with your semi retarded son, get 100 coins, go back to her, give her the money, she gives you a handjob and tells you the next day about a probending event featuring some Equatist probenders.

Therefore it is basically impossible to play right now from beginning unless you start with an older version and then switch to the newest one after triggering that event.

Anybody else's cursor lagging? Mine seems to lag only when it hovers over the game window.

Is there a way to turn on hardware cursor/mouse?

Fuck it, I'll just deal with it. Haha

i have i used the search function nothing about this version and if you play the game there's nothing to tell you what to do when you first start

It's rather strange to hear such questions from the moderators of the topic. The topic has both basic instructions and more detailed ones. There is a video walkthrough, etc. The OP has all the necessary information.
This is in addition to what is in the game. If you read the dialogs, then you can understand what you need and what to press at least at the first start, at least at the tenth.
It has been written more than once that the game is divided into 4 parts, and these 4 parts is divided into 2. There is also a description that the choice of any part is not connected with another and you can immediately select the part that you need. Accordingly, at the start of the game, if you need part 4, click on part 4 and then follow the dialogs.
For part 4 there is no detailed walkthrough yet, but for most people this is not a problem. The main problem is that the current version is not playable from the very beginning of part 4. There are uncorrected bugs and you cannot go far.

So can't get passed 90 resistance, pema talk doesnt work, shady doesn't have a scroll, I'm spinner level 8. How do you progress?

Is something broken? I don't know any airbending techniques, and no scens or options trigger anywhere. Hit max spinner level, lowest resistance, talked to everyone, etc.
