Why is 'Meteor Derplander' is the default name?

Meteor - what the FF14 Warrior of Light was officially called (source is from the published lore compilations of 1.0, where the WoL is referred to as "Meteor Survivor")

Derplander - what the FF14 community calls the CG stand-in for the FF14 Warrior of Light because he's a Midlander and he looked kinda derpy* back in the early days of the game (before he got a glow-up from Stormblood onwards)

Holy shit merely the 2nd update and already so many paths and branches. This game isn't ever going to get finished is it

Not sure how many paths and branches you see, actually. Both Y'shtola and Estinien both have 75-80% of their content done at this point. What's left in the future will be finding them in their future locations (Sharlayan for Y'shtola, Radz-at-Han for Estinien) and their last interactions should be like this :
⦁ If you chose Polyamory at the end of their romance : 1 or 2 quests (with NSFW scenes) featuring other characters
⦁ If you chose Monogamy or True Harem : 1 quest leading up to some sort of "epilogue ending" specific to that character.

That's pretty much it, and this is only for major characters like the ones introduced so far. For example, Hilda (which will be the focus of 0.3) will have a shorter storyline and no further interaction afterwards.

(More seriously, like Dorfnutter said there's no plan for adding Lalafells. I get that they're adults but I'm still uncomfortable having them in NSFW situations, even without the Patreon Sundering Threat.

Good sum up ! I would also add that I had absolutely no idea what else to set as a default name. Azem Wol ? John/Mary Finalfantasy ? Or probably xXx Sephiroth Lockart xXx to make it sound like a regular FFXIV WoL name.

Question about upcoming characters. While my stance differs, I understand the people who have hangups with lalafells. Which is a small shame, since Krile is such a wholesome character and having a game to romance her would be very sweet. Alas, the one solitary Ardbert x Lamitt doujin shall have to comfort my craving for wholesome lalafell smecks.
But I'm getting off topic. As a stance I understand less, what about the twins? Besides the lalafel, "underage" characters were also mentioned, and I know the twins are an equally contentious topic, despite, like Krile, being prime romance material. For the context of my side of the argument, they were 16 at the start of ARR (a legal age some places in the world, depending on context), and though the game has always been really cagy about addressing the passage of time, Yoshi-P did say in interviews leading up to Endwalker that several years have passed. Now, the words of a single creative mind are of dubious cannonicity, as it might not reflect how the lore itself actually gets represented in game, but by Dawntrail, you'd be hard pressed to tell me they've not grown up at least enough to be 18 and "legal". As for their design, that's another creative decision, even teased in game as them being "late bloomers", while its actually a creative decision that redesigning long-standing iconic characters is contentious, and its safer to leave them looking as they are.

I just want to see best girl Alisaie have a chance, dang it, without being outright canceled yet again, from a game project that I have so much hope for. Y'shtola makes for a good starting point, given her mass appeal, but as my long-standing least favorite Scion, I'm left waiting on the bench for others.

At least best boy G'raha is in the pipeline. That's a small victory at least.

Either way, a FFXIV fangame has been long in coming, and it makes me very happy to see it getting the love and attention it deserves.

Next to come ( ) will be Estinien, so as you can play a Male protagonist the game will get a Gay tag. After that depending on the available (or near) locations I will make polls between 2 characters for each update : Hilda or Kan-e-Senna for 0.3, Aymeric or G'raha for 0.4, etc.

I'd love to be able to add optional, shorter romances with secondary characters as well but that'll depend on whether I can find and pay another artist with a style similar to Syllax's

Not a huge fan of futa so nothing planned on that front, and no NTR either though you will be able to engage in polyamory if you want (they will accept that you see other people, but only if they can see other people too... and you'll be welcome to join them)

EDIT : A small precision since this last point has sparked some controversy : currently, Y'shtola gives the MC a choice between monogamy and polyamory at the end of her questline. I briefly explained my choice here, but I'll stay attentive to that whole discussion. There's no point in antagonizing an entire community over this so if needed I'll try to think of a reasonable middle ground between the original idea and the slavefest I personally wanted to avoid.


Nothing too extreme Anal, Feet and Tits stuff, definitely MILF, probably some light BDSM, some characters (the Hrothgars) will be Furry. No underage or underage-looking characters though : that means no Lalafells, and the currently minor characters won't be added until a several-years timeskip (so much further down the development)

EDIT : Forgot to add, but no rape as well, all sex will be consensual.

Neither pregnancy or breeding content are planned. Being able to play either as Male or Female, with the cast of characters I plan to add, would be a nightmare to implement.

Again, that will also depend on how much support the game gets. As much as I'd love to add plenty of romances, for now my own savings only allow me to commission a reduced cast of characters.

By the way, in the post you quoted I mentioned a poll between Aymeric and G'raha for 0.4, but I decided since then to make it between Thancred (in Ul'dah) and G'raha (in Limsa Lominsa). The competition should be a little tighter that way, but I have a feeling catboi might win

I mean, I'd argue (quite vehemently) that the twins already aren't underage, but I do get where you are coming from. Oh well, such is life. Lets just hope that they take after Estinien and don't look like gangly weirdos like the rest of the Elezen when they grow up, when/if they show up. I can dream.

Keep up the good work though! I don't have the money to throw your way right now, but I'm sending my best wishes, this project deserves as much support as it can get.

Are you in a New Game+ playthrough ? I was warned about a bug where Estinien's count of the Hunt targets killed reset on NG+ while the actual count didn't, which is something that will be addressed in a bugfix.

Otherwise, you need to kill 5 to finish Estinien's questline and there's 6 "final" monsters overall :

• Agrippa the Mighty in Mor Dhona
• Safat in the Central Coerthas Highlands
• Kaiser Behemoth in the Western Coerthas Highlands
• Senmurv in the Dravanian Forelands
• Pale Rider in the Dravanian Hinterlands
• Gandarewa in the Churning Mists

There's no order so that's weird. Did you speak with Estinien to confirm the kills ? The number in romance progress doesn't increase until you come back to talk to him.

Otherwise, can you send me your save file in DM ? If that's a bug, I'll be able to check what's wrong. You can find them in %APPDATA%/RenPy/

I'm looking for a gay focused game and love rps style stuff, so this caught my eye, but since I'm primarily in it for the m x m, could someone who's played let me know if this is worth my while? Currently there are two characters (one male and the other female) and you can play as either sex, so statistically speaking the sex scenes ratio would be 25% gay, 25% lesbian and 50% straight.

As a whole though, playing for M x M content would still allow you to follow Estinien's whole storyline and interact with most of the game's mechanics (battles, and a little bit of gathering/crafting depending on your choices), that'd make around one hour of content so in my own (extremely biased) opinion I'd think this is worth your while

Otherwise, I'll be switching from male to female new character in every release, so the game's next gay content won't be added until 0.4

I am very surprised the lore and in game knowledge part did very decent.
Way better than a lot of RP players.
