There's this thing called gunplay. I've read it in sex scenes in fanfiction usually in cop/gangster type. MC can suck the gun or be fucked with it or play Russian Roulette.

While I understand your reasoning, pray tell me, who made that the official norm? As far as I understand, absolutely no one. Devs can follow any tagging format they like. It falls on us as players to discover what's in the release version, which on f95 we most of the time can by clicking "ChangeLog". In this regard it says "Initial Release", which gives you a fair idea as to how much content we can expect from the game.
Versioning is all about conventions, otherwise why use a version instead of a date ?
Yes, Devs can follow any tagging format they like, but they shouldn't.
People can also give any signification they want to words, i.e. grey means yellow and true means false and war is peace, freedom is slavery and ignorance is strength. Or 24 hours means 90 days.
Communication needs language and language needs coherent conventions, otherwise it becomes useless.

Because each dev likes their own version dating for their own reasons. Take Shattered for example. The game has been in development since 2019. What do you reckon is its version number currently? I'll give you a hint. It's following your preferred version dating. And yet, it makes no sense because for something that is tagged 0.22, it has TONS of content. So much so that you can't even properly follow a guide without getting bogged down in branches at this point. And according to dev, she is close to finishing it. Think she will jump to 1.0 when it is final? Or perhaps she will add like 78 more patches before that happens?
Even newer games of 2025 like My Husband's Boss-the game is 20% complete with 5000+ images and nearly 2-3 hours of playtime. Its tag? 0.2. In comparison, I have seen games like Short Stories that don't even have 500 renders and barely an hour of gameplay, tag themselves at 1.9.
Again, I understand your point. The way you would like, is straightforward enough and makes it easy for the average joe as well. But, at this point, the whole landscape is such a chaotic mess, it's just better to look at the release date, change log and just make a fair guess as to how much content there will be.
And don't even ask me to interpret games like Love of Magic with their B1 v1.6.11f tagging. That's just rocket science at this point.
