VN Ren'Py FreshWomen [S2 Ep.3 Part 2] [OppaiMan]

The visuals are great, the various women are fine.. but damn the story is absurdism run amuck, the situations take me right out of the story and into "watching nonsensical shit in a VN on my screen".

There's so much emphasis on the MC visually. Over and over and over I see his face (more than the women sometimes), it's weird. If we wanted voyeur pr0n we'd watch that or play cuck VNs. Dev, we want to ride in the MC seat. That's critical. That fantasy is degraded by continually showing his over-indulgently (borderline comical) expressive face.

The situations don't make sense (and, fine.. he's got amnesia.. it's half a rung higher than the cheapest fiction trope of time travel).

I found myself wondering if the sex situations were real or him dreaming again. That's a fail-point for me. Some of the sex scenes even had vignetting and felt out of sync with the female characters, and yet they apparently happened. I thought that was meant to be a clue that it was a dreamstate. WTF? I actually found myself going "Don't get sucked into this - it's probably another bullshit dream event". Only to find out it actually happened within the story: And by then, too late for confused me.

Edit: So, the 'Russian' endurance test (sans bear) has thrown me for a loop yet again. It's like slapstick comedy now. Was Freshwomen always supposed to be clownish/humorous and I missed it or did it take a really odd turn there?

Personally I feel that it's lousy writing. What's the point of moving into the building just so they can throw you out? Just over a jealous husband or whatever.

I also thought it was weird as fuck create this situation where he'd get kicked out. Seems like it was just added to try and copy that famous college game we already know .
I didnt like to have to choose a place to stay this early, but ok.

In real life filming someone inside her own house can be a matter of even jail, a big penalty at least, and a registered felony for life. So, no, it's not exaggerated to kick someone out of your property after that. Actually, it's the less worse action you can to.

Oppai-Man I felt that the sex animation with Sue in the new update was too slow. It would be better if you increase the speed gradually or give an option to the player like "Do it faster". Some games do that.

I edited a video of the animation with speed changes.

Agree with Sue's expression being off after putting it faster, although I prefer that kind of speed penetration specially in characters like Sue, rebel and open minded. Those things should be considered from the start. Don't you agree that the sex penetration was very slow in this update? In her first sex scene (chapter 2) was pretty fine.

So I usually detest the whole college trope....
Unleashed, Timestamps (heh sorta) Come Home (Sorta again) and this fun romp are different for some reason.
I know that a couple of those are incest laden not quite college tropes, but I do tend to lump my fun time into slots, and this one shares the same slot as those. Without slamming another college trope very popular AVN, I find these early chapters very entertaining, and I think I REALLY like the models.
I am hoping for great stuff!

Question, is this dev one of the guys who did some great adult mods for Fallout 4? If so, I have been following them even longer than I thought!

You should @ the person who created the compressed version (since that's clearly the issue in the message you've pasted here), rather than just posting your error to no one in particular. That way the compressor will be notified and might be able to help you out.

Yes, I agree. IIRC in Chapter 2 they seemed fine to me. Animations are tricky enough as it is, so I applaud devs who can make different speeds of them. (And I don't just mean having different speed options during a single scene, but as you said: having one girl slower and another girl harder and faster.) However, if you watch various levels of speed in actual porn, you'll see that expressions don't just look the same but faster.

There are definitely some games (like My Pleasure, for instance) that are major offenders of mismatching supposed speed with what the characters describe. It's irritating; just don't describe it as fast if it's super slow. (One example of this type of thing done very well is Super Alex and Amnesia. That guy is extremely skilled with rendering and animation.) Even worse, some games actually have the characters say it's now going "harder" and "faster" and there's almost no increase in speed or visible intensity. It's immersion breaking, to say the least.

If you really want to make faster animations, you'll need to re-render with a mind toward faster movement on most of the body but slower, more normal-looking expressions in the face. In fact, often the facial expression will either not change all that much during the animation (because they are "overwhelmed" or whatever throughout the whole power-thrusting) or there will be a very sudden expression change (as the MC bottoms out in her or something, for instance). This is actually a big part of what makes something like animating so challenging and so artistic in nature. It's far more complicated than just adjusting framerate.

Now, of course, I don't mean any of this to take away from Oppai-Man or the work he does. He's very talented IMO: his renders look great generally, the sex scenes are very erotic (minus the weird MC expression stuff), the writing is done well (from farcical to moving), and the story is interesting (if albeit yet another college setting game). I'm only saying that if there is going to be such a focus on varying animation speed, it should be done well and not just taking an existing animation and using the fast-forward button. The same goes for anything else of this type: if it requires very involved nuance, it should either be done painstakingly or avoided altogether.

This is strange. In the Beta Lily kicked MC out for spying, in this version it's Sam who kicks him out but all the subsequent dialogue refers to Lily kicking him out. A bug in dialogue triggers?
