The remove Nicky patch was a joke mod made by the dev a looong time ago to make fun of those that bemoaned about her.
The only thing it does is add an unavoidable bad ending at the end of chapter 1.
You probably installed it and loaded a save after that point.
It was made around the time when chapter 4 was the latest chapter, so it probably triggers the end when you reach there.

I certainly didn't knew of that bad ending. I don't suppose said action figure's still in the protagonist's new place at Rhodenbarr Tower, if the story continued its due course.
