Even when I've seen Devs do polls, it's not binding. It's just to kind of guage mood or find out what kind of content people are interested in, or which Lis they like the most. They generally don't have much impact, regardless.
depends on the game really. I've heard some games are ran almost entirely by polls and ruin games granted alot of those are NTR or sharing games. Even some games start fine and they after awhile they tend to let polls dedicate to much of the type of content that is added. Which is why I hate polls if it isn't anything beyond cosmetics.
I haven't run into any that are that bad - but I've seen Devs do a sort of "I have 4 events coming up, which one do you want first" kinda thing.
It's more rare with story focused games but ive seen a few or even heard of some that get changed entirely into a game that is different how it used to be because of polls. But we don't have to worry about that here
If Neon actually started a poll about how he should develop his story and followed its conclusion, I would most likely unsubscribe from him, since it is no longer his game and vision, but the average zoner's. It's not that it's a bad thing, it's just that I don't really care for it.
Not really, devs should make the game they want to make first and foremost. Changing things based on some poll is a bad idea, you can end making a game about furries or whatever when that's not even your thing.A poll would be great , it could actually fix a bunch of issues and finally give some folks a reason to be quiet. No, please. No polls. The remake bored me, but developers should make the game they want. Even if they screw up. And if they decide to change course, let it be because they believe in it. Almost every game where the developer has listened to polls has ended up being a disaster. Those kind of polls are fruitful and fun. But the poll being discussed here would be "do you like the chp 1 changes yay or nay." I guess I don't see the problem if people are just curious. But I feel like it would end up being something to lord over on whose opinion is 'right' or 'wrong' or w/e; particularly if majority don't like it, it will just be aimed at the dev as ammo "durr no one likes this change Neon, WHY won't you change it back durr!?" That's a headache I think we'd all rather avoid honestly, especially Neon.
Even in this forum I think most people are ok with it. When it first appeared a bunch of people popped in to say they liked it. It seems to be only a handful with any serious issues. Of course those people who popped in might not come back to vote.
