I take the Nicki stuff in stride, but I am always kind of confused by the same handful of people showing up every so often to trash her, the game, the choices I've made, etc. I feel like they're hoping I'll see the error of my ways and change things to suit their tastes, but it really has the opposite effect. If someone approaches me in a constructive way, I'm happy to listen and consider their input. But, if someone only shows up here to poke at me and never say anything nice about the game, I'm forced to assume they don't actually like it, and are just here to try to rile people up, and get a reaction.

.tldr; I completed Ashe's reintroduction scene, and am now moving into Brittani's photoshoot scene. Currently around 400 renders for the update. I figure this one will land somewhere between 1000 and 1200 renders, similar to Chapter 3.
Once the photoshoot and the following scene are completed, I'll be releasing the build to to patrons as kind of a Chapter 3.5, similar to what I did with Chapter 2. I expect the finished Chapter 4 to be ready in December, assuming I can finish Brittani's photoshoot and Ashe's date, this month.

You people. I've stated my opinion on Nicki very clearly pages ago. I don't hate her for her appearance or any of that bs. I don't even really hate her. I just wouldn't have anything to do with such a person after the first incident. She's stupid and makes stupid choices then expects to be rescued. Literally in this story the ONLY times she has come to the MC is when she needed something. Simple as that. A ho is a ho.

Honestly, I'm at a point now where I'm trying to be more careful about adding love interests. The cast is already on the larger side, and I don't want to short-change any existing characters. That said, I did tease a couple of redheads on the Patreon recently. This girl's design isn't really set in stone (which is why this image wasn't in the actual Halloween Special), but the plan is for her to be Ashe's fiery best friend who pops up occasionally. Once I get her design locked in..
A new redhead will also appear early in Chapter 5, but she's more of a supporting character that's necessary for story reasons, right now.
Finally, I have an idea for a redhead who's associated with Pepper, who'd be in that Gabby/Brittani/Pepper/Viola age group. But, I don't know if she'd be a love interest, or just a supporting cast member. Sometimes I introduce a character intending for them to be one thing (Brittani, Viola..) and have so much fun with them that I want to see where their story goes.
I just need to be careful about juggling such a big cast, or it may start to feel like the story is spinning its wheels a bit.
When you say supporting character, does that mean no sexual content planned with them at all? If so, is sad, but as a solo dev, you gotta do what you gotta do

More likely it'd be a limited number of sexual encounters, and no full love/corruption arc. There are two specific characters I have planned for upcoming chapters, which are important to the story, while still really only making sense as one-off encounters.When you say supporting character, does that mean no sexual content planned with them at all? As a purely hypothetical, Ashe's friend could be a girl she went to college with, and is only visiting her for a week. Maybe the MC and Ashe take her out on the town, they all get drunk, and there are three options: going to bed with Ashe while her friend crashes on the couch, a wild threesome, or you deliberately get Ashe blackout drunk so you can put the moves on her friend.
That's kind of what I'm shooting for, with some of these characters - they'd ideally add some texture to an existing character's story, while still allowing for some sexy content outside of the main girls.
I hate we have no choice but to let nikki stay with us.
she honestly is a shitty friend and a constant damsel in distress.
she legit got a MILLIONAIRE as a bestfriend who is in love with her and can take care of her in general but instead of returning his feelings she dips and gets money to help her piece of shit bf who turns out to be a no life good for nothing bum.
then she ghosted the mc and returns with another sob story and of course damsel in distress of course..
she needs help again. now I get being a good guy but don't be a fool. At the point i would have LOVED to have a option to just close the door in her face and sent her on her way. Like might be one of the worst bestfriend in any vn I played in a while and THAT'S saying something.
she is way above the line who TRASH. Like really the mc will do anything for her but you know being nice gets taken advantage of and well only time she sees him she needed something from him.

Love her or hate her, Nikki is straight-up this game's mascot and we are gonna all have to get used to her because bitch ain't going nowhere That doesn't mean that we have to like it, but fortunately if you don't like Nikki the game provides an outlet for your frustration
Edit: Nikki's character deficiencies are a feature, not a bug. Her lack of self-esteem, self-awareness, and self-preservation are probably a necessity in a story with these particular branching paths.

I actually liked Nicki to start off with, but the new look just killed it, then hearing her story about letting herself be degraded for money ruined it for me, but then it became hate for her when I restarted and raped her, she still comes back, you are still forced to deal with her, and then this was the final nail in the coffin for me.

Generally speaking the game allows you to play as a good guy, a charming sleaze, a terrible sleaze or a bastard/raper.
The story goes out of its way to allow you to justify your chosen path. That's why many characters are purposefully flawed. This is especially true for Nikki, but those flaws are by design.
The main theme of the game is exploitation. You constanly find yourself in a position where you can exploit fully or partially your power over others. You can, or you can chose not to and be a superior man.
Nikki has been exploited by her boyfriend that set her after you. She was then exploited by you, in all the paths (take notice of how even in the good guy path she basically gives her consent to be exploited). She's then exploited by the weirdo rich photographer and finally once again by her boyfriend. She's in a high stress situation and comes to you.
Why? Cause she's desperatly hanging on to your past bond and the idea she has of you in her mind.
Is that a character flaw? Yes.
Does that makes her a bad character? No.
More importantly she once again positioned herself in a way to be exploited. But this time not with your money but emotionally, cause she wants the stability you offer more than anything.
The story is set up in a way that you can be her lover or her exploiter. If you're not interested in neither then, I'm sorry but this is not the game for you.
Anyway this is just my opinion, peace.

it makes since but it will still be better if you can AVOID characters in some form. it will then start feeling kinetic imo. But like I personally said 1 character isn't a dealbreaker for me, just gonna cold shoulder her and keep moving. The game obvious gonna use nicki as the man plot armor imo so she is there and will stay there regardless. even if you treat her like crap which i am doing it's no way to get rid of her which still imo sucks but it is what it is. maybe in the future when you once again save her from herself we can finally kick her to the curb depending on the route you took for her. she is needed. she is one of the key parts of the story that is obvious LOL. what makes her a bad character is the fact you are the REBOUND. She made dumb choices and you constantly forced to bail her out. it makes her characer not only dumb, but foolish when see seen the writing on the wall with the dude she was dating. I don't think she is the worst character ever but imo not good. can she be salvaged? MAYBE, it's to be seen down the line. Out of all the people the mc is helping hers is the most self inflicting which is the problem imo.
overall game is still good and enjoyable. if we are forced to be the pillow or the jailer of the crying maiden then so be it, It is what it is.
