Mason and Gabby are at the bottom of the totem pole for me but the update is great, prolly the biggest update to date.
We have plenty of content with the main girls of the update plus several interactions with others.
Some say that introducing more people to the game is a bad idea but I don't think so. This is not a vn about a school boy and his steplandladies. There is a bigger picture to cover so you need more npcs. We have to keep in mind that npcs don't need the same screen time as main love interests. Like the girl working in The posh pit, she can be there just to mess with Viola and show you how shitty people are. She doesn't need sex scenes, proper routes or whatever, she's a npc in a bigger world than your landlady home.

I wanted to wait for the remake of chapter 1 to play this again, was that done or something still planned?

I enjoyed this update a lot.
It's nice to see some of these branching stories starting to collapse on each other. Last update the whole Risa thing was super interesting but I was feeling like "oh great here's another storyline we get 50 renders about every 5 months" but already starting to see how her storyline is converging with Ashe & Nicki (and probably Gabby with the drugs/her dad) and of course the checkovs gun of Guy/Nicki saying his weakness are those he loves and then Cassie just shows up. Hopefully with less individual branches we will get some more progress I can't wait to see how it goes.
It was really nice to see another perspective of Viola and how even Guy misjudged her based on her accent. Her frank acceptance of someone's position in life when they are desperate for money reminded me of the scene with Peper where after Guy rapes her she just asks him for money like... wow that feels more dark than screaming/crying because it just speaks to the grim acceptance of a dark and shitty society. Still could never do a dark path with Viola must protect (also noticed Neon has Viola as his signature is she your favorite also )
The biggest flaw I notice in this VN is the timeline seems excessively short. Like this entire update was one day? I was shocked when Guy said at the end it was the same day still as when he was with Risa last update like it felt like a week. I've always felt this way about the intro also. The more we hear about all these amazing things Guy has already done (now also saving that Optho office historic building?) in the period of just 6 months including doing photography apprentice traveling to Brazil it's just like a lot a lot. Time skip should've been at least 1 year maybe 18 months and the current day events should be spaced more. How is Gabby supposed to have time to process her complex emotions towards guy over the course of like a day and a half?

Man now that someone leaked the beta when the public version comes out with bug fixes and stuff it won't show up on the main page which is a damn shame.
So... going through the early chapters again there appears to be quite a bit of foreshadowing going on.
Also, anyone else have an opinion on the theory
Taking the time to read and process this novel just reaffirms why it's so great. Also, now I'm on edge and try to see a meaning in every turn of phrase. Kudos Neon, great storywriting!

I dunno what the walkthrough says but from what I remember to unlock the taboo content, besides installing the patch, you have to be actually evil in the beginning with Nikki. Not just like mean and manipulative but you have to use violence or actual rape. Otherwise you want get any of the taboo options later.

I am going to bring up one thing about Nikki that very few seem to bring up. She didn't ditch Guy. Guy ditched her. He got his money and pulled a Houdini. I think that this is going to be touched on more in the rewrite of CH1 but she did try to reach out to Guy after he left the store and he felt like he needed to keep her at a distance to keep her uniformed of his wealth. This drove a wedge into their friendship. Her keeping close to Guy was not an option, mostly due to how he acted. Not too many consider that in light of what happens after Guy helps her and she pulls a vanishing act of her own, because it is much easier to focus on how she bailed.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I believe that Nikki not only succumbed to pressure from Brent but that the way Guy was acting toward her in the months that he was hiding his wealth had a role to play as well. She wanted her friend back more than she wanted the money, I think. She has a people-pleasing personality and she wanted to find a way to make everyone happy. This is the road to hell for most people pleasers. You can't make everybody happy, especially two guys who are playing tug of war with you. You have to choose, and not choosing Nikki was faced with progressively worse choices.

That's only on the dark path. If you're on the light path, she has no reason to leave as it's possible for her to get the money without having sex with the mc if I recall and she and guy are still on good terms.

There's usually a cool-down on promotion on the "Latest Updates" page. Two weeks or thereabouts, if I remember correctly.

I disagree. No matter how Nikki gets the money she still gets screwed over by Brent and loses her phone to him. Thus, she never gets any of Guy's messages or calls. Even if he gave her the money with no strings attached she doesn't feel like she can show her face to him. In fact, the more kind Guy is the worse she feels for losing the money again. So by not choosing she was faced with her next worse decision. Then a series of even worse decisions to make. Pretty much until she only had one left.

Yeah her first interaction isn't the best for her character as a person. But you got to remember her boyfriend is abusive and controlling, not only he is the reason she gets into a bad spot but he is the one demanding her to trick the MC to giving her money. She doesn't even want to do it and when she does she ask for way less than Brent was wanting her to ask for.
But when she shows up again in chapter 3. She tried her best to get by on herself even tho she needed help because she didn't want to take advantage of the MC , it's why she ghosted him for 3 - 6 months. When she does come back she doesn't even want money just a place to sleep for a few nights. The MC is the one that insist on giving her a job as a way for him to give her money and help her out. Not only this but she feels guilty to the point that she doesn't even want to start a romantic relationship with the MC because of it and feels she isn't worth love because of what she has done.
So yeah she does fuck up and mess up in a major way and does one thing that is messed up. But she really is a friend first and not a gold digger , if she was she be out for money again. but her 1 fuck up is big enough for enough people to not forgive her despite her not being a bad person or anything when she comes back, which is why she is split if she is hated or loved.
