You are better off playing and finding out for yourself. For 2 reasons her content is getting a rework after the next update I believe. That and the community is split on her. Some like her and some don't you are better off making the decision yourself.
But if you really want to know here it is. But it is better explained in the game than what I can do and well I have a bias and I do like her she is one of my favorite LI in this game.
She made alot of bad decisions that all started with her EX boyfriend, which lead her asking the MC for money even tho she didn't want to but her ex kind of convinced her / talked her into doing it. (this decisions getting changed so you can give her money without sex). Then she didn't want to take advantage of the MC again asking for more money when everything went to shit cause of her ex. So she ghosted him for 3 months trying to get by without any help , failing at OF and eventually got paid by some weirdo just to take pictures and tattoo her self ( she never had sex with him). She gets tricked again thinking she would do one photoshoot for some creep and pay off all her debt that was cause by her ex. However it ends up being a porno shoot. She sneaks out of the back window and runs away and ends up at our door since she remembered we lived close by.

Sure the backstory may change a bit but she is still going to be the same perfect woman she has always been.

It does matter to the sad weirdos who get so upset over a fictional woman. They have never heard of the concept of character development. They also apparently don't think that people can change or improve.
Even when chapter 1 does get reworked, people will still find something else to complain about. They already have a negative bias towards Nicki, so they will latch onto any little thing to bitch about at length.

I was surprised when I first started this game and then coming to this thread and seeing some Nicki hate.Yes, the latter.
She is just so perfect I was shocked people didn't like her but I knew pretty quickly that I would want to marry this sweet and innocent flower.
I actually got a bit emotional during that scene where Guy was in the bathroom and covering her eyes while offering words of encouragement
Me personally I don't really care about her. Although my MC has lost nikki probs forever(it seems for now), she isn't the worst character in the game, but nowhere near the best. Chapter 1 rework will make it better, the first chapter is garbage compared to rest of game.

Personally, I love all the characters so far and if Neon could clone himself, I'd beg for more Yeah, I was surprised how much I liked the romance stuff. Usually, it's so poorly written that I just have to roll my eyes and go make the dark choice because at least it's fun in like a shocking forbidden fantasy sort of way. But the romance in this game is excellent, it's converted me and made me realize I do like romance, it just has to be done right. Plus, it helps that the girls in this aren't super vanilla or too virgin or anything. That stuff tends to bore me, I like more experience and kink.
In my own head canon, she fucked him and submitted to the porno shoot too. It's more sad that way imo and makes for a sweeter love story. A lot of guys are turned off by "spoiled fruit" or w/e, but I see it as another wound to lick.
Yeah.. tbh, I try not to judge too harshly how people prefer to play the game or view the characters, as I think the ones with attitude are the main problems. But, I guess some guys have had real experiences of betrayal, and I can only imagine how unfun that is to dredge up when you're trying to relax. Or, maybe they just fear betrayal which ofc extends to the content they consume, that's unfortunately a common feeling these days. I personally think they jump the gun wayyyy too hard on Nicki; for me, it's pretty apparent she's a good person that just has an immense task of standing up for herself. Yeah same I think it would of been better as well I forget which path I was talking about before , I mentioned once how I wish one of the choices lead to this. I believe Neon said he did think of doing something like that for a minute but wanted to stay away from that three letter word haha.
Yeah I'd argue the fact she didn't come running back to us when she was in trouble but tried to solve her issues alone, showed to me she is a good person that didn't want to take advantage of Guy's money and lets face it it would of been easier for her to do that. That and well it's clear she felt bad for doing it in the first place which is why i'll never understand those comments that call her a gold digger to me her actions and emotions throughout the entire game tells me she is anything but a gold digger , unlike Isabella. Sure it was shitty to ghost us for 3-6 months but how I see it wasnt for that long and well I can't blame her either as im sure the moment Guy caught on something was wrong he would of insisted or helped her no matter what, and she clearly didn't want to take advantage of him.

Due to the fact that a VN divides the audience regarding an LI in a radical way, it shows how this game is above the majority in terms of character development and story.
