I genuinely want to know how that other poster can't find the "dark content" despite the fact the Subscribestar version + taboo patch are literally in the OP.
I know, I threw my hat in for a squeaky clean version that gets a patch. Neon even responded to it.
Again, my question was at that other poster, who somehow can't find the "dark content" despite the fact there's a version and a patch literally in the OP.
It was different, Nicki, you could have raped her differently by throwing her on the floor, and the scene was also longer...
Is that version no longer there?

The issue is really that Patreon's not keen on distributing a game on their platform, with a means to unlock taboo content. That's why I've always built Friends Indeed in such a way where you really couldn't unlock anything -- you could only completely overwrite all the files, which I can't really do anything to prevent.
This is also why I'd want to release Friends in Need on platforms like SubStar, Itchio, Steam, GOG, etc. with the content removed from the files, but able to be restored via a more comprehensive patch, instead of a toggle. They're more permissive of having one version that complies with their standards, while mostly turning a blind eye to patch content, and it keeps such a build disconnected from Patreon.
The only reason I'm even speculating on making a purely non-smutty version is basically just to widen the audience, and avoid any future problems. For instance: pornographic AVNs are banned from certain regions, like Germany and China. Removing the spice would open those regions up for sale without a VPN. Plus, pornographic AVNs are subjected to a lot more scrutiny on Steam now, and are commonly rejected for Early Access. So if I wanted to serialize Season Two on there, building on any success from Season One, it might be an uphill struggle. And platforms are always changing their rules re: different types of content in the adult space, and selling a version that's limited to topless nudity and fade-to-black scenes would let me sidestep issues like requiring users to submit ID, incoming EU/USA age verification laws, etc.
The issue with that plan is that I'd need to 1) sell a non-spicy version, which immediately removes a large amount of the appeal/potential custoemrs 2) rely on people understanding there's more NSFW content available via a patch, while being restricted from mentioning this fact on a platform like Steam. Given my experience, the second point is a little sticky, and sure to confuse and irritate a lot of people.
So, I don't know. There's no easy answer right now, so I'm content to sit on my hands for a while and letting things develop.
I'm going to go ahead and tell you that Perverteer had his highly acclaimed Tales Of The Unending Void Season 2 rejected and banned right before release on Steam. Removing the spice would be the only way to make it happen at this point, but the question is - how will you put it back in? You could direct users to the game website after first boot and hint at the 'naughty patch' of the game. Whatever you choose, make sure you take the threat of Steam banning a release seriously. Please.

Yeah, I believe he got whacked due to a character that looked too young -- which is a major no-no for Steam. That also presents me with a dilemma, because I like thin girls with smaller chests. So I have several characters that risk running afoul of an overzealous moderator. Which makes me think that the easiest solution is to just have a SFW version, with a spicy patch.
As for how to clue people in.. There's really no easy answer. But the game is built in such a way that there's very few mandatory spicy scenes, and I could probably work around those if I needed to, just by cutting away to a different angle, or changing an image or two. I've already done this for stuff like the Lucien scenes in Friends Indeed, where Guy sees/reacts to the porn video, without the viewer actually seeing it. So it wouldn't require an undue amount of extra work. Making people aware of the "spicy patch" would be a little more of a headache, but I'm in a bit of a pick-your-poison scenario.
All that said, I'm not in a huge hurry to put Season One on any other platforms. This delay gives me time to think about stuff like better animations, music, bonus features, etc. Once I have something I'm happy with, I'll do a soft launch on Itchio, see what lessons I learn from it, and then worry about Steam and GOG.

Yeah, tiny girls are pretty alright. As I've said before, I have a friend who's in her mid 30s, with two kids but is all of about 5' even, barely needs a bra even after kids and would have to be fully dressed, including shoes and maybe a few rocks in her pockets to hit 100 lbs.
Not the first time Steam bans a game because flat chested girls are haram. Interestingly enough many people hate Sydney Sweeney big boobs too.
I prefer girls with big asses and hips and hate retarded balloons tits, maybe those devs make mega boobs to avoid retarded policies like Steam ones.
Artistic integrity is not important in the face of beautiful money. It only further increases the validity of my point. GOG is tight there and viable. Censoring yourself for money makes you a whore.
But even with that model - who would apply for
Hours: Flexible but as many as needed to complete the project
Pay: $0 with possible bonuses for good work, and regularly hitting deadlines
all workers must supply their own materials and equipment
Daily performance reviews
Although, now that I write it out, that's the arts in general now for most people.
Not just arts, that's just the standard for all those hopeful interns working their asses off for nothing but a chance of getting a reference that might help them get a job where they're actually paid something.
