It obviously wouldn't serve me to divulge too much about Viola's future story here. But, your observations are pretty astute, Phil. If the player has Viola masturbate in the dressing room in front of him, she says Gabby's name, only to pass it off as a Russian phrase that implies MC has a big dick. Plus, if you came into the clothing store with Gabby, and then later stop to pick up Viola in the rain, she'll immediately get in the car with you. On every other path, even the friendly ones, she's a little wary, despite Ashe's presence. So, it's safe to say she thinks pretty highly of Gabby, and anyone who'd associate with her.

As for what that means for her sexuality, there's lots of possibilities. Maybe she's bi, maybe she's straight with an exception (for Gabby), or maybe she's gay with an exception (for MC). I've talked about this before, but I'm a huge dork for romantic comedies, romance novels, etc. And there's this bit in the Jennifer Lopez/Matthew McConnaughey movie, The Wedding Planner, which I quite like. The main character's dad is explaining how he was married into an arranged marriage, and explains, "We couldn't even look at each other. I was in love with another girl and your mother wanted nothing to do with me. She said I had big eyebrows and a low IQ. Anyway, one day I got very sick with scarlet fever, and er, she stayed by my side. She took good care of me. For the first time, I appreciated her. Then the appreciation grew to respect. Respect grew to like. Then like grew to love. A deeper love than I could ever hope for."

Love isn't always a straight path -- pun intended. It's possible to have your heart set on one thing, only to find something else that makes you just as happy.

Honestly, all the love interests have serious complications standing in the way of them, and a relationship. Bad boyfriends, absent husbands, children, age gaps, substance abuse, crises of confidence, and on and on. But, I think that makes it more rewarding to achieve the romance ending with any of them. If each character was introduced as immediately horny for MC, with absolutely no complications in the way of a relationship, I think that'd get pretty boring pretty quickly.

I think I understand you. Thx for taking time to illuminate It's kinda sweet thinking of a romance with Viola being sort of like an arranged marriage. Maybe Gabby remains an unrequited love, and maybe Guy's romantic infatuation isn't shared at first, but Guy's not so bad in the long run, and her and her mom are taken care of financially. Seeds of change grow a fresh pair of eyes. It would definitely stand out with regards to relationship dynamics compared to the other LIs. I suck at baseball, though, so maybe I'm not catching this

I think you misread/interpreted their comment. I'm pretty sure they're sarcastically referring to the other as an alpha, to lampoon that the other person probably buys into alpha/beta bullshit, not to assert that the other person isn't an "alpha"

Who might it be?

The first that comes to mind is Pepper. It would be a stroke of genius for her to set up Trevor for stealing money to get drugs while she's the one doing it. On the other hand her whole character's archetype is made just for people to suspect her of doing it while she's not.

Alex comes second, because those gains don't come on their own and some help might be required. But she doesn't strike me as that type even if we barely met her.

What about Cassie? MC's yet to be introduced sister. We know nothing about her yet, but from the sparce detail I gathered here and there it could fit her as well.

Dev Update 9/25/23
Hey, folks! How's everyone doing this week?
First, just in case you missed it: I put up a small Brittani photoset yesterday, available to all patrons -- starting at $2. Check it out if you haven't yet.
I don't have toooo much interesting stuff to share this week. I continue to write while picking away at the art for the opening scenes. I knew that this opening would be a bit of a pain due to the way I set it up at the end of the last chapter, buuuuut it doesn't make it any easier.

"Five endings?! Five?! What were you thinking?!"

Still, all my usual gripes aside, I'm having fun with this one. I've had a lot of people caution me against splitting the narrative into too many possible directions, at the risk of having the work spiral out of control. And I think that's a totally valid fear. I've made no secret about the fact the last update really got away from me, and I'm working to avoid that in the next few updates.
But, I really enjoy watching as the story breaks off in interesting directions, presenting me (and you, the player!) with more opportunities and obstacles. I always thought it was kind of trite and twee when authors would do their whole, "Oh, these characters really write themselves.." thing.
But, I'm finding there is some truth to it. Except it's not so much the characters writing themselves, as it is me examining a situation, and really thinking about how the characters might respond to it. Sometimes that leads me down an interesting road, and I'm forced to write something in order to remain true to the characters.
Sometimes that means that I write a situation without fully considering the consequences, only to walk head-first into them a chapter or two later. There's one particular character who, if you have a bad relationship with them, might cause another relationship (or two) to sour. The images below are a big hint in that direction.
