Dev did say allready but.
Basically the easy way is if your download is named "Friends in Need" Its the Subscribestar unsanitized version.
But if it named "Friends Indeed". it's the Patreon sanitized version.

Only chapter 1 was supposed to have a remake because it was not Neon who created it(if I remember correctly)

Their concern is not completely unwarranted. A lot of us has lived through re-boots and remakes that either made the game worse or just lead straight to abandonments.

I do not follow this thread closely, and did not know about the announcement, but even if I knew, I would not be unconcerned about the remake.

We have seen this story before, and even though it is probably not going to happen here, I would personally sigh a breath of relief once the main story resumes.

A reboot/remake, even though the intention is good, is something that makes people jittery and impatient and the surrounding negativity could demotivate the developer and often leads to the game being abandoned.

Instances where I felt more at ease, were where completely new content gets rolled out, together with reworked earlier chapters.


TLDR Even though this is planned, it's still making me nervous.

There won't be a rework of chapter 2, just adding variables probably. I doubt any meaningful content/extra scenes will be introduced.

Starting saves over might be a problem depending on how important the code work is, but I guess thats why he is releasing multiple chapters + new content with future releases, so you don't have to start again for each individual chapter.

not a bad question. Wait until the new update. I've played it already. It is fucking awesome, and gives a lot more background. Worth it. Then play the og game.

Well said and is basically how I feel every time a game is remade or gets a remake. Yet as seen by many members based on the replies it's easier to be an asshole then try to understand that perspective. Man the replies ruin this forum every-time.

Now having said that I myself hope it doesn't slow down any more future development. That's all now from this lurker.
