Have you played this new version? From the dev comments on the changes while he's been working on it this isn't now how things go. Or at least, the order of events is somewhat different. IIRC you also have option not to have sex altogether.

yes i played it, and that's exactly how it went...the chapter ended right after you gave her money and she left your apartment to go back to talk to brent. and yes you had the option not to sleep with her. He could further change her story i gues in chapter 2 and make her not betray the mc, but that'd be a big change....and a VERY welcome one tbh. if she doesn't run off you could marry her...like immediately. She'd make a pretty great cuckqueen. the last bit isn't really serious...i'd like it, but i can't imagine that's where the story would go even if she did come back.

The reason people are concerned about a remake is that 'remake' usually means 'sanitising the shit out of it and ruining it'. This has been the trend with... controversial... games for several years by now, with games being remade and going to shit to appease the patreon gods. Shortly before being abandoned most of the time.

Nope, the "rape" scene in 1st chapter got deleted. MC now fucks his friend only in gentle way.

you gave her money to get her out of trouble. you told her how you feel about her, she took your money, leaves knowing you want her to come back tomorrow, and if she HAD come back tomorrow she wouldn't need another handout. she'd be out of that trouble and free to live a better life as your friend.

Uhm, she wouldn't be out of trouble. Brent uses the money Nicki got from you to double down on his "great idea" and only makes their debt larger. So, Nicki is still on the hook owning money to loan sharks, now even more of it. And by going to Guy she would be bringing that trouble and those loan sharks to his doorstep.

And Guy isn't some action movie protagonist who'd somehow resolve that with Dramatic Action Sequence.

So, originally the dev from The Regional Manager (great game, great guy, go play it!) did the art for Chapter 1. I used his model for Nicki, but there were certain things about her that I didn't love, and I wound up changing a bit before I took over rendering Chapter 2. I gave her more distinct eyes, tweaked her face a bit, blah blah blah. So, the Nicki present in Chapter 1, matches the Nicki that exists from Chapter 2 and on. I changed her hair from the original, just because that original asset was dForce hair, which is a giant pain in the ass to work with.

Sorry, but I still don't understand what the changes were and why they were made. From the explanation I only understood that they were made nothing more, and there is no direction. Well, it became darker, lighter, maybe the dialogues are more logical? Well, what is the reason for creating a remake, not for the sake of adding several renders?

I just wasn't happy with it, honestly. Due to how it was made (with me writing, and someone else rendering) it just never felt as cohesive as I wanted it to. And I couldn't have as many renders as I wanted, because another dev was doing the art, while working on his own game, so he only had limited time to fuck with it. The new version lingers more on Nicki and Guy's friendship, goes into his original crypto investment a bit more, introduces some characters earlier, and adds more variety to the sex scenes. I wouldn't say it's just a new coat of paint on an old story. It's more like a retelling of the original, with more elements added.

Difficult to say, but my best guess would be mid-late July? I'm still early into Chapter 11, and it should be a pretty large chapter.

While your sarcasm is appreciated, I sense the frustration in your post and that is exactly what I was referring in my post.

Reworks/Reboots makes fans of the game nervous and impatient and start generating a general negativity on the game thread. It can affect developers such as yourself negatively and in a lot of cases is the first step to games becoming abandoned.

I truly appreciate you for still posting on F95. I have seen a lot of developers leave their game thread, due to assholes posters. However, despite your best intentions, it is not unreasonable for posters to become weary of a remake, give the history of a lot of remakes/reboots on f95. Some just have a very nasty way of expressing their frustrations.

In any case, I love your game, since a long time already. The fact that you still post on F95 is really heartwarming. So godspeed and the best of luck with your game!

Been that way since the first release. I just wish people would realize that, if their intent is to whip me into submission like a dog, it's just.. Not going to work? i forgot about that...i'm glad you pointed that out. you are right then. it's not a betrayal. but i don't know anyone who'd rather have their friends disappear out of their lives than help them when they can. But i understand why she didn't go back at least.

The currently available remake is for "Friends Indeed" version of the game which always lacked the dark paths.

You'll have to wait for the update to the regular version to get your rape on.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, i'd much rather Nicki did come to Guy, even if it meant more trouble for him. I mean, she is a friend, and you want to be able to help your friends. It's just i can understand at the same time why she didn't -- because she wants to "support" Guy too, and in her mind this means not getting him involved further. So it's regretful but i can't exactly dislike her for it.
