is the remake worth playing or is it basically the same game with too little difference to notice?

if by the "good one" you mean the one whit the dark path then yes the subscribstar is the one , but be sure to download the taboo patch and drop it in game folder too
Thx. Some time ago I played this game and it had the dark path so I suppose that the Subscribestar version is the good one because of having all the content

so the Subscribestar version is the good one?
If like rape and blackmail yes, you want the Subscribestar version called Friends in Need (and use the blank file taboo patch), if you don't like rape and blackmail, then don't use the patch and you won't get that content.

Do you realize that you release a movie/book/mainstream game AFTER you did all of this?
As a counter example, the published works of the Tolkien's have potentially consumed more lifetime in reworks than you, myself and the guy you're replying to have lived combined. Much of that time spent after initial publication.

Do you realize that you release a movie/book/mainstream game AFTER you did all of this? And when early patches of a mainstream game make you loose your saves people go nuts and pretend refunds? Ok, we are freeloades, nothing to refund here, but at this point playing this game before it's completed is way too unreliable.
This is a game still in the development process.

If you buy a game in early access on Steam they also go through several remakes. I've got games in my library from early access that are completely different to how they were when I first bought them.

You are here during development, not at the end, not with a complete product. Of course shit is going to change.

Sure but no one speaks like that.
Where you live. We have 5 regions, 26 states (plus Distrito Federal) and thousands of cities. Is it really that hard to accept people can talk different than you even if they share the same mother language?

Do you realize how few of these games there would be if developers worked like that? Write, rewrite, rewrite again, hand to an editor, rewrite again from the beginning, smooth the rough edges, start working on the art, redo parts of the art, rewrite parts of the story again because it’s not working with the visuals do the coding, bug hunt etc all before you see a dime of revenue- ask people to subscribe but only put out new material every 2-3 years. Do you think developers and players would prefer that system?

And how much of that in PUBLISHED WORKS was done by the man himself? Just FYI, "Silmarillion" and "Tales from Middle Earth" and "Book of Lost Tales" were all published after his death , compiled by his son, from his unfinished, unpublished scribbles. All of the books published FULLY in his name SHOULD be untouched (apart from badly translated editions being retranslated) and NO revisions made. Period.
And NO films of any sort has his approval since he died 28 years prior the first cinematic film. And fyi I was born before JRRT died, before lifetimes become mentioned again in MY case ;)

That said, I can deal with remakes of chapters as long as they do NOT change the over all story script. Because then it's not the game I paid for anymore, now is it? And, don't forget, as Patreon you tend to pay WAY more for them than if they simply sold their finished work. Since it's paying for them to be able to keep making the shit. TOTALLY different from Early Access or Kickstarter. Just think what wails there would be if you had to keep paying for EA or KS style games? LoL! :ROFLMAO:

I remember being told that it was only gonna be one update. He was gonna rework ONE chapter and then back to new content...thta it wouldn't take more than a year to get back to new stuff...how much shit i got for being upset that we weren't going to get new stuff for so long........now he's added new and remastered material to chpt 2 and 3...just like i was given so much shit for saying he would do...so this is now the second update and he's remastered 3 out of 10.5 chapters. IF he's actually done with chapters 4-7 and isn't going to remaster anyting else there.....and that's a BIG if...I KNOW he has said he's done remaking things, but he also said it was only going to be ONE chapter...so yeah...IF he done remaking thing, then it could still be a relatively quick remaster...as remasters go...but it's STILL gonna be AT LEAST 3 (1 more) updates with no story progression. This could easily end up being well over a year of not moving forward...hell it's been like 8 or 9 months already and Dev has only re-released 66.5% (7/10.5) of what was already finished. I hope he's actually done remastering and just has to catch the coding up so that it
flows together without errors and is able to release the full caught up version by end of July to high tier patrons like he says, but that's pretty questionable.
So he did more than he said he would, added some bonus content and is maybe a month off of the original timeline (way less than a year) and you’re very upset about it?

Didn't say very upset. I said I was treated like garbage when i said it was going to be longer than 1 update/1 chapter. And 9 months isn't "way less than" a year....the first part of chapter 11 was released I think in oct or nov of 2024. I could be mis-remembering...so it's been (I think) at least 8 or 9 months, and that's only if he manages to put it out when he says this time without making more changes...which is EXACTLY what i said would happen. I've reworked shit before...not games cause i don't code, but papers, reports, etc...you ALWAYS end up doing at least twice as much as you expect because as you go you notice more and more that needs to be changed. It always seems small, then it balloons. Like i said...i know he said he's done changing things...but i would be surprised if he doesn't find more that he wants to change as he goes through the coding and story of what's already done. It could easily be the end of this year before we get a completed up-to-date Chapter 11...and I'm not upset...I'm worried, because far more often than not games end up dying on the remake pile.
