So..... Do I need to play from scratch, or can I just skip this release and continue with Chapter 11, having no issues?

Sometime in future this candy will go full royal. Dev is gonna inform he now has a gf and friends and feels so incredibly guilty that he just can't continue the project and will start writing poems for toddlers instead.
i don't think asking money or not was what it determine the relationship between mc and Mc.It more if u didn't rape her she and had normal sex with her,she would still love mc.Both are to blame in my opinion,plus she was in bad situation unlike mc.

Cmon man... All i´m waiting for is the Brittani date that was promised early LAST YEAR. Instead we got a spin off and have to take care of a junkie. Now add to that a remake... I´m actually starting to get annoyed af -.-

Sounds like an excellent thing to do to me. Writing good stuff for the young ones is an eminently respectable profession in my book, good for encouraging literacy and all that.
Not so sure about including a truly dark path though, but a little scary is fine.

I assume, among other reasons and impacts, that it's a way to explain why Nicki wasn't romantically locked in from day one, and was with Brett instead of the previous version of MC .... which looked like a good match for her, just without money. Which made her look shallow and worse at the start of the original.
In the remake he is just not that attractive, which explains her attitude and earlier lack interest, aside from friendship. Not just for superficial reasons like his looks, but also his state of mind.

This is a game that I hope to be replying regularly 10-15 years from now. Personally I want Neon to take as long as it takes to finish it while maintaining the quality we’ve enjoyed up to now. I have other things to play between updates.
Great remake! Sets up the game plot much better than the original. And since I know that the developer is still working on the next few chapters, I'm not in the least worried about the games future.

Yeah, i'm aware of it. I still think it was powerfull storytelling but by the end of the day, it's a NeonGhost's decision. It's his story and it's still a very good one.

To be fair this was forewarned and isn't supposed to become a full on remake. Honestly while not a fan of remaking game right smack in the middle of it, the first chapter was also a source of contention... to the point that people's demand created that dumb "remove Nicki" patch.
Personally, while not hating her and being fine with her afterward, I had mostly negative feelings over the way Nicki handled their friendship and the topic of money, and debated at length over this. So this, as a course correction and only temporary seems fine to me
The only mistake is that maybe the dev should explain it all right in the first page, as a disclaimer, but even then we know some people won't bother reading it... you know the kind that can't bother searching for "compressed" versions or reading tags.

dude forget the previous version of the game and remake chapter 2 next. Nicki looks amazing. and for those of us like me that love Nicki above all other LI's, i want to see more of her. have her dump Brent and go back to Guy right there and then. she knows he loves her and will look after her. forget all that crap she does in the previous version including..NO FUCKING TATS. i could go on, but i will leave it there. at any rate, can't wait for the next remake chapter. hope you focus on the remake and crank it out Neon. great job on chapter 1.

I like the Remake. I provides a more compelling story between the MC & Nicki. And Nicki has a more dept in her character. I just hope that there will be more options on how the MC's character will develop, like in the original, where he can be a real bastard and take advantage of the girls in the game.
Me too actually. Personally I love Neon's writing and character development so any content is fun to go through.

To be honest, the first chapter was quite rough on the edges as overall quality. As i mentioned, i really liked how bad and cinical things started between Nicki and MC, and some guys here should remember it's a game a grow some skin, but, plot apart, probably chapter 1 needed to be raised to the rest of the game's quality standards.

Eh, i can agree with that to a point. Never was a fan of remakes, nor will i ever be. Doesn´t matter if it feels "better" or not.
Call me stupid, but SOMETIMES those early versions are even better than a remake. Watching the dev getting better and better each update is what keeps me hooked.
I´m more pissed about having to wait even longer for content of my favorite character that was promised over a year ago. Instead of that happening, you see "spin off", "remake" , bla bla bla. I´m sure you know what i´m talking about.
