There are changes, there is some new content, and better-looking visuals. The old version which is 1-11 will no longer be updated. The remake is the version going forward and it's been said Chapters 8-11 should be around the end July (for subscribers not public for a while) and will be caught back up.
I've only played the Chapter 1 Remake so far and it is worth playing. It has so many new and better scenes for the start of the story. I haven't checked the remake for Chapter 2 and 3.

The irony is that you CAN still rape people in the game, there are even new rape scenes. Idk anymore if people are trolling or they are just neurodivergent
So, as the reactions in the thread show just once again, reworks/remasters are incredibly controversial in this kind of community, partly justified due to bad experiences in other games.
That being said, after playing the reworked content:
It's a very clear improvement. It improves the setting, it improves the characters, their relationships, it even adds more sex scenes along it. To the point that I personally think this *is* new content in my eyes.
So, yeah. I'm perfectly fine with it.I don't follow development very closely but some people mentioned a potential Steam relaease, and yeah. Then it makes sense to improve the early parts of the game *before* releasing it on Steam.

Also, since some people mentioned there'd be no dark path anymore:
Make sure you have the Subscribestar-Version, put the patch in your game and then it is still there.
You have to be an asshole/rude from the first choices on, presumambly so you have the "Dark points" that actually unlock the specific choices. But then everything is still there and more (like the option to assault/force the brazilian model etc.)

Trying out the remake with the "taboo" patch and correct me if I'm wrong but in the original you could choose Gabby's age, which doesn't seem to be the case in the remake, patch issue or dev choice?

Why not finish the game and then do remasters? Almost everyone in the gaming industry does that. Why tinker with the game halfway through?
It's better to wait for the final product, because these are certainly not the last changes to the game. And the old version was more than satisfactory for me.

same here well 1/2 true I do play them but with skipping any of the actually dark scenes. I just want to see the context behind the scenes and see the Dark Story in hopes Guy gets killed or something. Otherwise never ever touch for me

even 9 months doesn't "fit the bill" as WAY less than a year...and you are again assuming he makes a deadline when he hasn't made one since starting the remake. I don't care about his promises or his deadlines and I'm not arguing them. I don't pay for the game so I'm not paying attention to it. An update shows up here when it shows up. But I disagree with you that 3/4 of a year is not way less than a year. It totally is. You chop 25% of something off you now have way less.
