Thanks. Guess I'll skip this one, too. Kind of annoying. I think I would've preferred they finished season 1 before going back and reworking it lol. Oh well, I'm not paying, so I shouldn't complain too much.
Season 1 is already finished in terms of all the content has been released in 1 form or the other. Neon is just adding back already added content. The reowrk added in new Season 1 content but in the beginning. There's nothing getting added to the end as far as I know. Old chapter 11 is getting turned into Season 2

As much as people complaining about stuff we already knew about annoys me, this is a comment I actually agree with.

If devs finished their games then went back to remake whatever they needed to there would be far less complaints. People would get to finish the game without massive delays and devs would have all the time they needed to change what they wanted to change without disrupting the flow of their players.

Thing is, we gotta be honest with ourselves and realize there's someone here selling a product. at some point selling the propuct better will clash at least a little bit with how the consumer would like things to be.
Finishing a game then going back to rework is a great way to kill at least a sizable amount of interest, how many people will go 'Well, it's already done. do I really care enough to keep paying just to see an alternate version of the early-game?'. Not all, but some.
When you do it before people are still invested and it's easier to stay and support because its still some kind of work towards the end product.

I think Neon has been very reasonable with how he does things, and even bothered to address the comments and explain how he waited to finish season 1 before going back to rework.
Of course it sucks a bit because most people would love to see more new content instead of reworked old content, but at the end of the day it is a product that Neon is trying to sell, and this is the way to sell it well.

Idk what it's about with the remastered chapter 1. The old Nikki interaction was better in terms of content, at least including the patch.
tldr; I didn't feel like the Nicki that existed through most of the story, matched the one introduced in Chapter 1.
While I think the new Chapter 1 is a big improvement, I did feel like the new 'first major scene' with Nikki felt like a bit of a gut punch and disappointment. It really bugged me and actually took me a few days (and replaying the original) to sort out why.

I realised that the old scene gave the MC a reason to become more of a jaded asshole. He got stupid rich and one of the first things a friend does, someone who he should be able to trust (admittedly a bit less so in the original), is to come to him dishonestly and try and get money from him. Sure, it's because Nikki is basically in an abusive relationship and her BF at the time is an asshole, but it still feels like a betrayal. This event gives the MC (and by extension the Player) essentially four reactions, all of which include some level of feeling betrayal and/or disappointment.
1: Betrayal - Sure Nikki, here's the money, have a nice life. Goodbye.
2: Sympathy - Shit Nikki, that's rough. but you know you could have just asked me yeah? Here's the money. I'm giving it to you though, not that asshole BF of yours.
3: Anger - Well if you're going to act like a whore, I'll treat you like one.
4: Hate - (dark path required.)
All four actions can make Nikki leave with some kind of feeling of guilt too, which IMO can add to why she disappeared for months.

Nikki's actions in the original version justified (storywise, not morally or legally) how the MC can treat her, and why the MC might go down a darker path. Or at least to start looking at other people more critically and perhaps be a bit less naive. Lane's (the lawyer) warning in the Chapter 1 remake, about how the MC's new wealth might change friends and family for the worse would make it hit even harder.

In the remake Chapter 1 Nikki event, the MC ghosts her for a month (bit of a dick move, but kind of understandable with everything going on), and Nikki has no idea the MC has money. She comes to him to get away from the shit she's in, if only for a while. I could easily believe that she wasn't even going to tell him about her BF's latest bullshit and the money owed. As far as she knew, the MC was as broke as her after all.

It feels like if you want to go down a meaner, darker path in the remake, its 100% purely based on the Players decision purely because they decide "I'll do an asshole play-through this time". It didn't feel like the MC had any reason to do so, just "whelp, I'm rich so guess I'm an asshole now" or something. It comes out of nowhere. It felt like there was no storyline reasoning or justification behind it. (Yeah, yeah, I know you get a couple of really minor choices earlier, but they really don't feel like they have any weight.)

The new Nikki scene IS well written, and if I'd never played the old version, it wouldn't bug me as much (though I'd still feel like it was a bit...lackluster when it came to justifying the choice). A few other changes* aside, I am still enjoying this game.

Just my 2c mini-rant.

* it felt like the "I'm nineteen and in college! Honest!" dialogue was laid on way too thick and got old really fast.

Evidence on this very forum has shown it doesn't work like that.

Remakes have generally not been accepted well. Some have caused games to crash and burn.

You've got people that get tired of waiting for the story to progress and have no interest in rehashing old content no matter how much it's improved.

You've also got people that tend to pause support while remakes happen and wait for progress to be made.

Replayed the from start since the saves from the previous update were not compatible, only to find that this update has even less content from the previous update. Did the dev decide again rework the entire game. If so, im done with game.
And I was just about to ask if this update was worth downloading or not.

Tbh the dark path for the majority of girls except maybe Viola feel like this as they will literally either fuck you or at least have some sexual interaction with you the same day if you don't go down the dark path. It's kinda like why even do it when they will legit fuck you that SAME day either way. It's not like it takes less effort or something.

Yes, it is. The game looks for the file, and if it exists in the proper place, the game will let you play the rape scenes. For further information search the thread.
kk. Might be an idea to have it in the OP or Dev notes or something.

Don't bother, the update ends after chapter 9. This is way much before the MC, Gabby and her Mom go to the policy station (dont remember the chapter number) which is the point at which the initial game stopped before being reworked which also stopped there. And now looks the Dev is reworking from start again.:( Also looks like the option to assign ages to the girls has been removed, though i could be miss remembering if this was included in the game or if it was a mod.

If it was part of the game, it was probably part of the taboo patch. But the dev did say some changes were in response to recent actions from the payment service providers, so it's possible.

EDIT: Also, there's no indication of more changes to the early parts of the story, just the parts updated in Ch. 7-9.

I'm dying here, that new prologue with the Brazilian chick, a part of me dies every time she has a new Portuguese line.
