You need to start in on the dark path pretty early, or a lot of those options will be blocked. You have to either rape Nicki in the first chapter, or the girl on the boat in the second chapter, or else you will be held to at most the dark corruption route. I'm not sure I like that bit - it would be nice to be able to gradually ramp up the darkness over time.
It's not out yet. He is still getting all the code updated.

I dunno, I like the Nikki that tried to solve it herself and failed over the Nikki that betrayed her best friend because her worthless boyfriend told her to. There was no edge, she was a doormat for brett originally.
Both story told Nicki tried to solve itself and she was not a doormat she was basically stuck with Brent. The edge I was talking about was vagueness of initial intention of Nicki. Was she betraying their friendship, was she really whoring herself for money, was she just desperate and so on. Sometimes it's better to leave some things to reader, it will bring richness to your story if you leave some parts to readers' imagination. Now, we lost that, she was not aware of money when she came. Even after she learned about it she was not asking, MC was offering the money, either with good intentions or not. Does story work both way? Yes, but I believe older version was much better.
Don't think it was left to the reader. Or at least, depending on the choices it you make it comes out that Brett sent her to go flirt/sleep with you for money. Maybe you only find that out on the darkest path?

I think you find out either way but in the old version on Dark / corruption path depending on choices you do find out Brent was trying to get way more money than Nicki was asking for

Normally I do too, but there's only one more remaster update to go and then only completely new stuff from there on. On top of that, this one actually improved many parts of the game, especially the beginning. I loved the early chapters a lot more than the old ones.

Really? Neon has been talking about this happening and why it was happening for two years. The remasters started 6 months ago and are almost done. And now, without reading any of the thread you decide to weigh in with this? I think we need a whole new remaster from the beginning, dedicated to you.

I get the hate against remakes but that's just not true. With the new content + extra episodes it has more content than 2 years ago.
People are clearly looking at the remake post seeing not all chapters are ported over and acting like the other chapters are just gone when really the coding is being updated and so the last few chapters will not work with the updated coding. They are then acting like the final chapters he made are gone so it has been years since he last updated.
It is people who want to complain and do not know game development and do not care about it and only want everything now or months ago. They don’t care about NG doing it to make future development easier they just think he is rewriting his story instead of him needing to remake his code and using that to also fix some earlier writing issues he felt he had with his story.
It is going to be a constant cycle of people seeing an update seeing less chapters and complaining and then painstakingly explaining it to them until the remake is done and the new chapter is out.

Yesterday I was here, completely hopeless — bad news about SG, no update in sight, all the other Ren’Py games I like already finished, no new updates… until I stumbled upon this little gem of a game.

Yeah I commented in the wrong thread... I'm dumb. This game is ok, more anal wouldn't hurt, but I guess it's not finished.
Devs should learn to stop this obsession with either characters, they all virtual, there's no such thing like getting attached. Or the fetish locator effect, where you just give people everything in the end after DLC.
FFS learn to distribute the content around, lots of time I start playing hard and at the end it's just a drag...

2 years ago was 0.4 with the third part of chapter 4. It developed up to .76 with chapter 10 and a peek at 11, then .85 reworked old scenes up to 9.
