You either haven't got the right version of the game (you need the Subscribestar version, Friends in Need, not the Patreon version, Friends Indeed), haven't installed the patch, or didn't rape either Nicki in the chapter 1, or Beatrice (the Brazilian woman on the boat) in chapter 2. If you haven't taken one of those two opportunities, you will lose the darkest options for the rest of the game. If you have the right version and the patch is installed correctly, you will have a gray heart in the upper left of the title screen. A freshly installed patch will require a restart of the game.

Yeah, I long ago realized life was more enjoyable when I liked creative stuff rather than hating it. I stopped interacting with anything awful unless I had no choice, and life has been much better since. Yeah. There are loads and loads of people on this forum who will keep coming back to games they supposedly hate, and devs that are supposedly milking everyone, just to bitch in the comments. Soldano kinda sorta has a point, I mean sometimes the praise does get kinda gushy. But, I'd rather make a dev blush or cringe than stomp all over his work. I mean, I'm making the dev feel good about his work, that's the least I can do for his free labor; it's a positive exchange for both of us. Meanwhile, taking a fat shit all over someone's work... like, not giving helpful criticism, or just voting with your disengagement, but just putting your stink all over it.. that seems like the pathetic thing to do, and it's just a negative self-indulgent exchange that doesn't get you a better product, or a better anything. I honestly doubt it even makes the person complaining feel better really.

Yeah, I wanted to make a similar point yesterday but, well, tired.
What the post said about brown-nosing is understandable but it glosses over the fact that a good chunk of the "criticism" is just plain hatred, simply false, or based on nothing. Constructive criticism I have no issue with even when I don't agree (as was the case a few pages back with the discussion on Nicki and why she sucks : I very obviously don't agree but the people discussing it were making understable points and the disagreement was "valid", even though it seemed batshit crazy to me). But a lot of the negative comments are extreme and thus, the defense tends to be a bit extreme sometimes too.
But yeah : positivity is way more enjoyable than negativity. I don't get the people that engage with things they don't like only to post like "abandon-ware, fuck this dev, another milk-factory (hey, that's my mom you're talking about!!), etc", or people that hate-watch a show just to go complain about it online.
Regarding your very last sentence : I don't think you have to even doubt. Negativity, especially wilfull negativity, only breeds negativity. That's a law that seems to apply to many, many things in life (including positive ones : seek positivity and you'll see more and more of it [obviously excluding extreme situations like war zones or being the last born in an Alabama-incest-orgy-as-breakfast-family]). Well, it's a little early for an esoteric conversation about the mechanisms of the mind, but you get my point.

I don't think any events were 'scratched out' no. I replayed recently, and it ended at the same point it did the last time I played ~1 year ago. Several chapters have been updated/re-done (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong anyone). But it had everything I could recall, despite going the "good path" with most characters this time around. A few scenes were omitted, but I chalk that up to my good guy MC not being able to go down those routes.
The good/bad stories are quite varied in what they allow you to take part in.

Yeah that's this game and the thing is the rework (of the beginning and then the necessary adjustments) hasn't just quite catched up yet to what it was before. I think there's just one chapter missing, probably the one you're talking about. It hasn't been scratched out but it hasn't yet been reintegrated.

Or maybe I've been following this game since chapter 1, I even funded it for a while, but it's been going down a path that doesn't please me as much as it used to.
In fact, it's messages like yours I was referring to earlier. At the slightest criticism, someone has to come out and defend this game aggressively as if they'd been insulted. Why? It makes no sense. It's just a game. Do you enjoy it? Good for you. I enjoy it too, even though it doesn't appeal to me like it used to. But you have to understand that there are people who don't like it. People who hate it. People who, even if they might like it, see its flaws.
Some of you are like those hordes of zombies who defend a politician, or a singer, or even a company; as if their lives depended on it. It's so absurd that I don't know whether to laugh or cry at human stupidity.
I'll laugh, it's much healthier.
