At the moment there's no way to play this VN avoiding the memory leaks, which is what's causing the freeze of your PC (in my case it just shut the VN off).

This game is getting worse by the update

First the dev gives u options to ignore the family that disregards you as ur nothing

And now out the blue we get no option and are forced into a out of the blue happy family all the sudden

Dev should have at least given a option to say no thanks to that bs

Caus considering all the options leading up to this it makes all those options feel pointless

To be fair it was clear it was going in that direction?
I'm nowhere near the end of this update, but as soon as the MC starts wondering if he indeed was the hacker, he starts saying everyone how he feels guilty and how he kind of understands their reaction.

From a story standpoint this is really more of a kinetic novel, the are some choices, but for the most part they only concern, which kink you want (or not) to see and which LI you want to pursue.

Then again, since some LIs are probably integral to the storyline, like waiting a revelation dwon the line when he recovers his memories, also those choices don't matter THAT much.

Like I find Rachel's beahviour a bit suspect, so I picked the "no thanks I'm fine on the sofa" twice, yet I ended up getting a BJ at the movie and now my MC and her are all cozy and such...

Should be. Will just have quality differences. But they shouldn't be to bad (maybe won't even be noticeable)

It did work, but the game still crashed after a few minutes. I guess we have to wait for a fix.

Hmm must be somewhere on your end I let it run for 10 mins now and worked fine. You can try coping over the update only patch again. Note: there has to be files that need replacement. Click yes.

If it still doesn't work, download sons full compression of 0.40.

Oh if its a memory leak then yeah downloading his new compression woudln't do enything.
And I wouldn't be affected for a while I guess either cause I never got to the videos and 64 GB of RAM.

I think the reason it's not working, is because I'm not on Rachel's route as a LI, since I don't follow that type of route if it's optional.
the problem seems to be, the hint should not be there, given I did not choose Rachel to be a LI

Yeah, I was talking about the memory leak when the game crashed, sorry for not being specific. I'm going to wait for a fix.

I'm going to 3rd the memory leak, starts happy at a few hundred megabytes and just slowly climbs till it lags or crashes.
Seems to skyrocket with the animations, so that might be a place to start looking.

I'm not sure what to say. Last night when I screwed up the upload, and retested and tab skipped the game for like 10 minutes and I didn't have any issues, and I didn't see those spikes either.

I can't figure out the issues that some and some are not having.

Then again, Affexon has a similar issue but I didn't have that either.

I don't know what the hell is going on

I just didn't do enough. I added back v0.39 fir now. It may be fine for 99% of players (I mean the game just crashing).

GPU driver crashed. After it peaked at 24/24GB Vram It came back but froze again, this time only sound playing and didn't recover.

Was wondering how high the RAM usage would go but need more VRAM I guess

I'm not sure what to say. Last night when I screwed up the upload, and retested and tab skipped the game for like 10 minutes and I didn't have any issues, and I didn't see those spikes either.

I can't figure out the issues that some and some are not having.

Then again, Affexon has a similar issue but I didn't have that either.

Skipping doesn't do anything for me either. Need to click around and do scenes, used a full save a few pages back tho.

I did click scenes; you can't skip everything. Like in the apartment you have to click around the apartment on 10 different things to advance, same with the school.

Ah hmm have no clue then. I did use your compression + my patch (that was what I had still). Ima try the same with the full version. (Hopefully without crashing my PC lol)

temporary fix

• From the game's folder, remove the folders lib and renpy. Also remove the .exe, .py and .sh files
• From the downloaded .zip, put the folders lib and renpy and the files renpy.exe, renpy.py and renpy.sh into the game's folder
• Now run the game by starting renpy.exe (on Windows) or renpy.sh (on Linux)

renpy version changed to latest 8.3.7
