This is the introduction, ofcourse it will be linear to set up the game. I don't know how much more of a hint you want, when you do something, it tells you what you need to do. For example to play the poker game you need a camera, it's not hard to figure out you need to buy a camera in the online shop and to make money to buy it you need to work for it.Yeah, this game needs a lot of work to warrant playing it. It has potential but right now there's just nothing interesting going on, no hint on what the player is supposed to be doing (unless I AM supposed to spend the first few days doing nothing but hitting the "work" button, in which case that's just sloppy design). Every other ren'py game that I have played offered hints as to what I was supposed to being doing if there was a kind of free roam style to it. So far this game has free roam but there's only one thing to do; the game seems completely linear, in which case there's literally no point to have it free roam, just string the scenes together one after another and save the player the headache of trying to figure out if there are other things available to do.
Also, some events are time based and happen at certain moments. If you ask me its not sloppy design, it's lazy playing. There's a counter on your cell phone (Story) that shows your progress..if you haven't reached the end of the counter you still haven't done all events.
