While that is true. the mods on F95 is shit at correcting these things even when reported. And really, the metadata server should alias different metadata with ease, if it doesnt then it really should be.

I can change the author's name on my side but if there is an update it will be reverted to what's present here.

Thats too bad, an alias/sibling system might be needed i guess until F95 standardize it on their side... which is doubtful.

I may be the only one experiencing this but Ill ask anyway. When I open games details window, the window with all the games gets smaller. I dont know when this started happening. Check gif to see how it looks.

You're not the only one, this also happens on my (updated) client. When a new window is opened, the browser is no longer maximized in the program.

Oh, ok I'm not the only one. Thing is when an update came some time ago it fixed it for a few days, but then it started happening again. And no update fixed it ever since.

I honestly LOVE an application like this, thank you for making it!
Ran into a slight "issue" though, performance wise.
I started extracting Coming of age (Coa101) and at the moment of writing it's been working on the extraction for about 2,5 hours now.
Other games extracted just fine, and it's using a full CPU thread.
Sadly only one because it's 32bit but hey, I'm already happy the application is here.
Application is fully updated with an up to date database.

I just use 7zip to extract. And then use the program to move the files in the correct folder.

I know there are issues with the extracting part, if I have enough time I will think about using a third party program to do this. Now I do like a lot of users, I extract archives with another program then use my app to "install" it.

There seems to be something wrong with certain tags being searched in conjunction.

Example: If I filter for the tag "futa/trans" or "male_protagonist" and can find results that include the other tag. But if I filter for both "futa/trans" and "male_protagonist" it gives zero results as if there aren't games that have both tags.

This seems to the case for multiple tags, as I've had the same experience searching with various combinations. If you filter for an individual tag, you get the results. If you filter for two tags, you often don't get any.

I say redesign the whole search and filter system to be one unified search query. A query that would be able to get hits from any metadata plane while handing, AND, OR and exclude on any field.
Allowing it all to be one search too alows for a tigher UI since you only need one entry box instead of 2 + tag viewer as it is now.

Want to be able to search in the similar way as in either Hydrus or Search Everything where it will autocomplete normal tags and fields while being snappy and fast.
Best would be to unify much of the metadata to as few tables as needed. Think mostly tags with namespaces is where it should be. These things can be optimized more by having tags as ids on the table for each game instead of the tag itself, allowing for more easily replacements with the addition of a tag sibling system.

"Gazukul" has the wrong creator name
https://f95zone.to/threads/617/

"Gazukull" is the correct one with 7 other threads and matching names on other sites.

EDIT:
"GM Gaming" and "GMGaming" too

EDIT2:
https://f95zone.to/threads/1016/ is missing the + in the title. that one is kinda important for that game and newer windows support that as a folder name.

EDIT3: "HoneyGamer" should be renamed to "HoneyGames"
Games like https://f95zone.to/threads/1994/ have been renamed o nthe site already but all creators in your database still got the same old names for 3 titles

EDIT4: "Iceridlah" and "Iceridlah Games" should be merged one way or another

I'd actually prefer the hard-tag system also remains an option.
Unified searches are nice when you're aiming at low-target environments. When you're entering high-target environment terms, you end up with a massive overflow of results.
So if I searched for "best game" because I'm searching for a game called "The best hentai game ever", it'll also yield me all results that have bestiality and 2dgame as tags.

So while a very flexible search systems would be great, I'd actually REALLY want hard-tag filtering to remain an option that reliably yields only filter-based results.
For example if I want to look for a corruption/cheating story that isn't NTR, being able to filter all ntr out is really handy.
What would be great is if the filter itself had a search & autocomplete field, so I wouldn't have to scroll through all tags available but could instead have tag searches be autocompleted, using a modifier like - and + to indicate I want to include or excluse a tag.

Thoughts on a walkthrough tab or window. It could easily search up the formats themselfs .pdf .txt or whatever other text format or links on request (pressing the docs button or opening the tab) and display those formats in a neat list with the file names. double clicking it should just open in the default program.

Doing a search for the file extentions there and then in the game folder makes sense as it removes the needs for it to be mapped in the database and makes it easier to handle for the user by just dropping it in. Removes the need to open explorer to find it if its the only reason you open it while playing.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Your description would only be for wildcard searches. Wildcard searches takes part of words and fill it out as is. If you where to make a search for "best game" then it would find everything with best game in it.
If you where do search for "best* game*" then you would maybe get that if it automatically include OR queries.

Both of which is a bad thing to design.

Just copy the general booru site or Hydrus i say which is the main way of tagging on the web for content like this.
Been tagging for 15+ years at this point and doing it this way is the best way, but care is needed to be made with the way things are done. You can't just do wildcards on everything without a wildcard flag, you can't just do OR operators in each space either cause that sounds like such a crash. Expecting AND operators for each space in a single query is the way to go.
But you are also missing the point that you will be able to add MULTIPLE queries at once.

Again, ref Hydrus for the best tagging system out there for both queries and tagging itself.

client_fdxjwX1F9u.png

This search for example would be excluding all futa AND (large breasts OR POV) AND be larger than 2GB AND marked as fav AND have a higher rating than 7/10.

Now thats is just an example search, one could throw in more OR operators, as many as you need or even wildcards witch should work as expected.

Your description and prejudice on how a search system will work is missplaced.

And auto-completion doesnt need to be slow either. Hydrus handles close to a billion tags in a split sec with completion with 3+ letters. There is really no reason why it shouldnt work at any scale.
And frankly, Game-List scale is SMALL.

EDIT: any booru like Dan- or Gelbooru cheat sheets is also a good way to see how they handle millions of tags and files.
