Please ask away if you have any more issues. Sadly the client is a bit buggy for me, you might have better luck though with the issues.

Debating to make more series of pleb friendly clips like that maybe that the dev can edit into the OP or something. hmmm

Hi there,

I have a little problem that is slowing me down. As you may know, I work on GL during my lunch time at work. But yesterday our firewall started to block the domain, so it will be harder for me to develop and test. I'll find a way to fix this but it will take a little time.

No, not that im aware of no. Works fine here. It might be a bit confusing though. If you have a profile on the forums, this is not the profile you log in with in the client. You make the user in the client itself by setting the username and password.

The UI and unification is a bit confusing for sure.

ATM the login doesnt do too much sadly, but i guess the dev has plans to expand on it with ratings, community tags and other such things.
ATM you can upload thumbnails at a limited size though (which i think is bad, should be limited to filesize and not res size)

EDIT: you make your own client profile in: Preferences>Profile

yeah i had set up a username different from this site as well as a password but every time i try to log in, it errors. I wondered why was all. it seems pretty functional without a log in any way so didn't seem like a game-breaker. (pardon the pun)

That might be an issue. And it might be related to all my metadata errors too. The database is not getting locked correctly when editing the database. That can be really bad.

databases should be locked when being written too. if its not then issues can arise in most database setups. no idea what type of database the dev is using here though.

its dBase right? what google gives me. hmmm Dev, make sure you lock on writes.
This might be the cause of all the metadata issues i have too.
I still have issues all the time with wrong thumbnails to the games, play states being set without me touching it and other things.

Is there a setting somewhere to manualy specify that you have completed a game? (or are up to date on releases?

Completed Play state? or completed tag for finished products?

Quick question,
normally when I open Game List a popup appears with new and updated games. However, for the last 3 days, this hasn't happened for me. When I click on Refresh it says "everything is up to date".
Any idea what might cause this? Or is the creator behind on updating the database?

Yeah, the Dev of this Game manager is hosting the Metadata server that the Client pulls from.
He keeps it up-to-date.
Unsure how much of it is automated on his side or not.... really should be mostly automated IMO.

Hopefully we can get a local metadata scraping option in the future, nailing that would require less need of the server.

As you can see here ( ), the database have not been updated since Lab Rats 2 (52.5+ hours now)

Hello, database sync is back.

I hope to be able to work on updates soon. (I have a huge load of work since half of my team have resigned, so I have to code myself until I recruit some new devs. Until then it will be hard for me to have time for personal projects)

Thats too bad to hear. Good to hear the metadata is getting updated atleast.
Such a hassle otherwise with the client to manually edit the updates and double check manual input and such.

Hopefully it pans out in the end.

It got live again this Monday, hmmm. Even checking now this very moment as i type this, the servers are still up and have new metadata compared to last night.

Its not a server related issue atleast, if you are not getting metadata updates or version updates then it will be on your side.
The Client is at v2.16.4.5 at this moment.

Hello everyone,

I'm back to business, I'm finishing the feature I'm doing for myself: online saves, after this I'll add a feature to be warned by mail when a game that you are following is updated.
If this is too successful I'll have to turn it for patreons only, in other words for me only (almost) but with 12000 mails per month, I don't think this will happen.

After this I'll transfer GL to a new server, I hope it won't be too complicated. And then I'll start working on the new tag system.

I almost forgot: happy new year :)

PS: I just ran out of coffee I'm not sure to be able to work today :p

Great to see you back at working on the client.

Sadly this last release had a return of the hover preview loading images of the former title the mouse was on. Same as it was in the past for the most part seemingly.

New titles seems to not load screenshots at all in anyway, forcing updates doesn't work either. Nothing seems to update the images with the missing ones like it have done in the past.
EDIT: this was caused by the new option to download images.... overlooked it.

Also still have the issue with played states being set for a title i never even tried (heck it was just added to an update on startup).
For example with title `43101` was just added to the client recently, didn't have it played or installed.
Before i installed it, it stated i had played v0.9.9 without actually having done so.
Fear that this might happen to more titles, though it seems to be on the rare side.

Everything points towards threads not being processed correctly i believe.

EDIT: Great, got another new bug. Have had the install path set wrongly somehow when i know i only use the install action. A title was mapped to a totally different title.
Ofc, this isnt a huge issue. but launching the title or opening the directory would do the wrong action which is no good. play state seems to also have been copied over with the same version numbers.
So this might be related to the played state issue.
