New update POG!
New updates window is Super Fast now!
Just missing a filter and a way to easily open/export in bulk.

One of the biggest things it needs is a blacklist. to be able to blacklist titles one isnt interested in at all.
For example im not really interested in the RPGM games at all unless they are REALLY good.
Would like to manually blacklist and hide all of the titles i don't want to see again.
If they are bad, if they don't agree with me and so on.

Seeing the same crap titles one might not care about again and again in the update window.... or if you are like me, right clicking all of them and opening them in the browser (cause thats the fastest way to port it to the browser atm)

Then find bunch of the opened tabs you have is with crap games you have no interest in.

Seems the delete screenshots options does no longer reset all the set thumbnails finally!
Hopefully that was the only instance of that bug, that one has been an thorn in my foot for ages now i feel.

Hello guys, I'm back.
As you may know, I work in a society that edits health care software and I live in France. So these times with half of my team staying at home I've got a lot of work to do. But I'll try to provide updates more frequently.

At first, I was afraid but finally, bakeries are allowed to stay open. How would I have survived without bread? The bad news is that I'm almost out of wine :(.
Glad you are doing ok at least! I've been noting more and more games with the wrong tags, My Legacy for example has Unreal Engine, RPGM and Ren'py (which is the correct one)
This too

I've checked serverside tags seem to be OK, "Emily: Sister attraction" for example has: Adrift, completed, incest and rpg tags. This is correct, I think I'll add a function to check if tags are ok when you open a game's window, and maybe another one to check all games tags.

That would be great, keep up the good work! And stay safe!

Yeah... i think im getting more of those multiple game engine instances over here.

On a side note, could we have some new binds for the image/media viewer?
Would want Scroll down for Next File, Scroll up for Previous File and Middle Click to close the window as a whole.
That would mirror Hydrus and is a pretty neat way to view images in full size while just using a single hand without needing to worry about clicking the small side buttons.

Gallery page navigation should maybe use the same binds for the mousewheel.

Ok, have some simple thoughts which should in theory clean up all duplicate/alternative named creator tags/names.

By comparing and merging creators with different names that has the same creator url (normally to their patreon right?)
That way it will always be a match for that creator. Just need a set name for a creator so games are not split across multiple creator names.

This will make more sense when searching for the creator... or allowing us to open a creator query locally by clicking their name. (turning open in browser for the patreon link into shift/ctrl+click instead, or middle click)

Think this makes the most sense in cleaning all that up.

Really missing relations of any kind here. Would love to more easily and quickly get to related titles.
The start would be fixing the creator names and making it easier to open a query/search for the selected creator.

The step after that would be actual relation systems which needs its own categories/ids for what type of relation one title has for another. (like this title is the sequel to this title, therefor it would be saying it is a prequel when going the other way.
Unsure if one would just open a new search page for these relations or if you would display them in the detailed page like in that crappy framework i made months back.

A relation system like AniDB comes to mind, might be overkill though. But having the ability to set relations like sequel or same world or same characters on titles from different creators is a must imo.
Just look at all the Big Brother Spin-offs fan-sequels we have. Should be able to more easily find all of them more easily once relations are setup by the userbase.

I'm guessing this would have to be community created added? I would love to see what characters are in the game then clicking the character and see what other games she is in. But we would probably have to do all that and get approved by tid.

Yeah, would make the most sense for it to be community created like the dev wanted with the tags.
Think maybe some sort of approval system might be in order. Kinda like how google maps does it, know this title? is this tag correct? yes or no.
Do that for the metadata in question for the titles you have installed.

Would make sense anyway.

A relation type for assets might be interesting.
Think it should mostly be down to series story, like prequel and sequel and so on. Also creators and fan creations ofc.

Not sure how you would do characters other than making a full character system with character metadata.
That would be weird and overkill for most use-cases.

If you are talking about sharing daz assets then maybe having fields/list of all the assets in use.
That way it could cross ref with other titles easily.
And if the dev wanted to add the 3d assets side of F95 too it like he did mention early on could be a thing if wanted.
He could easily re-use those links to give the thread url for download links.

Would make it all really seemless in the end this way.
Would love it personally, but it would scale up the metadata for sure.

Going the asset route with daz3d or other store links or ids would atleast make the most sense and would automate most of those titles... which is a fair number.

To lessen the strain of the metadata saved, normalizing the urls would be key. having just the product/thread id number or whatever as the saved field and identifier for the type of filed to re-use a prefixed url.

like ID:9574 Type:F95 would produce an url like https://f95zone.to/threads/9574/

Maybe that is already in place already, if not then it could atleast ease up on the bandwidth requirement and database bloat of the metadata.

Type per site would be wanted at that point. for whatever sites one might want to have in this.

Once such a system is down, having url classes. a system that recognizes what an url is, if its a post or product on a site or if its a creator profile on a site and so on would be needed.
This way the system itself can figure out what the url is and how to handle it.
This would remove any hard-coded urls that might be in place, like the thread id's and the creator patreon links.

But since we have no idea what this client actually does and use as we have no info on it. Its hard to know if its hardcoded or such systems is already in place.

Would love more details about all this.

On a side-note, really debating opening a channel or two on my Hydrus discord channel with its own section.
Dont think a dedicated server might be warranted, but atleast my rambling would be more contained when discussing features and issues.
(Might do this tomorrow)

Ah for the characters I only meant for the ones that are from other mediums such as anime/cartoons/video-games. Stuff like Dragon Ball, Teen Titans, Witcher,...

edit: Yeah it's maybe a little too niche of a function and not a lot of people would need it.

I have a lot of games where the wrong thumbnail is showing, I have tried to use the check (for errors) button, and a forced update of the game database, but it dos not solve the problem, any suggestions ??

That would be a series tag.Guess it could have a series relation tag of sorts. That would make sense and not overkill at all. Individual characters would be another level above that.

You will have to open the game (double click) then right click the image you want and set it as thumbnail.
Clicking the refresh images button before setting it might be wanted at times for sure!

There is no way to set this. Thankfully we have less bugs that reset these in the last release atleast!
So any progress you might do with this, it will stay.

Would love for this to be better somehow.
Would love for an more automated way of selecting thumbnails across all titles.

Tags are supposed to be reloaded each time you open a game's window. I've made a few corrections hope this will fix the problem, I'll probably release it tonight.

Tag updating on title opening is suppose to be in in v2.16.18.6 you say? or the next release you are planning?
Cause its not working in that version :)

EDIT:
On a side-note, this is still an issue too sadly.
Never played the game, never had it installed.
Heck, the last played date is before the Thread Creation date on F95 ( https://f95zone.to/threads/40112/ )
ZOViTPgixR.png

Metadata consistency issues again. hmm is this the underlying database structure not being up to snuff or the threaded tasks you had mentioned in the past?

I don't get it, whats the issue here?
Note the tag query, its Renpy + RPGM which shouldn't really happen outside of bundle releases.
Almost all of these titles is suppose to be Renpy only. Have not edited tags on my own either and they wont update with its new tags as the update suggests.

Made a dedicated channel/category for game-list on the Hydrus Discord here:

Hydrus people will have a ton of crossover with game-list users so its all good i think. Please feel free to join for whatever reason.
Can easier spitball ideas live there if you so wish.

Whats a Hydrus? Is the discord more for devs or for mortal humans?

Edit: Is playtime a planed feature? If it is, would it be possible to then add what was the playtime of a game when the game was checked as finished? And then then display the average of all users combined on GL?
