Just so you don't think I'm gone again (I don't have this much holidays
), I'm reworking the thumb system. I will let down the squares thumbs to use the thread cover. Of course you will still have the option to set up a different image if you want. It takes a little time so I won't tell you when I think it will be ready, but I'm doing my best.

Its all good, we just need feedback. Feedback is all we need that progress is being done
So this thumbnail rework will also fix this metadata crashing issue we have related to the thumbnail?
Having a weekly set day/time where you post something in general could help a bunch for stability here with the feedback.
"This week was good, i have worked on this and this feature to combat this and this issue and expect to have the feature done in the next 2-3 weeks or whatever"
Ofc refining as you goes. But having a set time where you post will let users knows this is the norm and that if they want feedback then that is the time to expect it instead of wondering and question what the hell is going on.
Many use twitter for this, but that is all up to you if you want to use the thread or whatever.

Thumbnail system is really awesome. I used it to create a small 3 image galleries from favorite scenes etc. I would store even more images but it is pretty slow thanks to the online stuff. (It was LOT faster when i lost my internet connection a week ago). I would be very happy if you add an option to disable image request alltogether, so i can just see my images without any question marks.

You can disable automatic screens download from the options. It will only download the thumb.
The next version is almost finished, I'm testing it. There still some issues, for example, if I try to download an image but get a 404 error, it's not handled right and you finish with a question mark. I hope to finish it in two or three days.
After this I'll move to the new server, it should speed up things.

I tried it by going offline and you are right. It's almost instant when offline. I don't understand what is it loading? Isn't everything on the drive?

Yes and no. Every time you open a title it will refresh it with the info from the metadata servers.
While this is good from time to time, i dont think its good to be done all the time tbh.
Think this feature should only be run on titles that have not been updated for some time. maybe 1+month or maybe an user setting.
This job could be done in a batch process instead of on the fly when you open the titles aswell, which would be my perf rather.

I think it is a bad idea to refresh every time i open a title. I would prefer to make it manually.

Updated, not sure if its faster. Don't notice it too much, BUT i can't change the thumbnail on titles anymore seemingly...
Need to test more titles, tried on 15 so far that had bad ones. hmm

So it checks in this order :
- If there is a user-defined thumb
- If there is an image marker as a cover
- If nothing is found it loads the first image
- And finally, if nothing has been displayed it shows the question mark icon

well everything i see here is that it updates the thumbnail no matter what it seems. titles i have manually set thumbnails or titles that had good ones by default in the past all change to the first image no matter what seemingly.

I deleted all the directories in tid, because it was a mess in there. and been redownloading the thumbnails from scratch.
But I still have problems changing the thumbnail on games. not all. but alot.
I went into the tid dir and checked out the pics. seems most of them are downloaded as .png , but they are infact jpg's
I tried converting them to png.. but that didn't change anything.

I think that i have found an error, I have sometime seen one of my games have been updated when the program starts, but i does not show up under the "updates" tab. I think it happens when the games changes version number format, an example is My future wife, my local version is v0.9 but the latest version is now named Ep. 3 v0.12

I am not sure if this is the reason but similar thing happened with Patronus ( v3.2.1 to Alpha v3.2.5 )
