Like Pale Carnation or Desert Stalker, there's a "promotion" or "other games announcements" topic in which devs can talk about their upcoming games/updates.
Dunno if it's a stupid idea or not, but might be worth posting in those ?

It seems that SparkHG is taking the necessary steps for his upcoming project. The dev just opened up a Discord for his Patreon subscribers. Not sure if it's available to the public, but hopefully it all works out for him. Promoting the game in other Discord servers would be a good idea.

If the dev is doing so well, why are they saying they need more capital? Unless asking your audience for a RTX5090 is a reasonable ask - which it isn't - I fail to grasp why he would mention struggling with financials with such a "raving" success.

No, I don't think they did, but it was clear from the start that this a Netori game in all but name when Meredith got involved. The MC's task is literally to seduce women away from their normal lives - no matter their families or husbands or kids.

Switching the story up so that never happens again is just a massive cop-out in terms of narrative. Really? None of the women most compatible with MC are in any relationships ever again?

So you're projecting and pretending that because one story is Netori suddenly meant the entire game is netori based when the author clearly never said anything of the sort.

You must've missed the pages of fans expressing their dissatisfaction at the dev announcing that he's moving away from Netori elements in the game before the Season 1 ending. There was a huge fuss about him saying he can't keep working that theme because of his mental health suffering.

Which is a valid reason, and I can't fault the guy for being honest - but, are we getting Netori again in Season 2 or not?
Everything seem to indicate we are. Which begs the question? Why the change of Heart?

He never said that.

He said he won't explore the point of view of the cheated one (the husband) anymore. During Meredith's last scene you were watching the scene from his point of view and you could hear his thoughts of it. He said in literally all the dev logs since that one that there will be other characters with a cheating/netori relation with the protagonist.

Then it barely qualifies as Netori - other than seducing the woman away. What's the point of stealing a woman from her husband/boyfriend if you don't get to see his reactions?

You do get to see his reactions, just not his thoughts. Unless you think mind-reading is a requirement for netori.

I'm not seeing any dev logs that state this is a netori centric game, so I have no idea why people are expressing dissatisfaction over something that was never promised in the first place anyway.

I wouldn't count on it. The dev has mentioned that he isn't as likely to lean as heavily into the darker elements of netori in the future after doing the last update of GoH.

He explained it a bit in the preview quoted below.

The relevant text is:

"While yes, this story is fictitious, and absolutely unrealistic, after forcing myself to really dive into the relationship between Meredith and the pain her husband felt... it dawned on me that I wouldn't wish this event to happen to my worst enemy. The thought of your significant other doing this to you is just... horrendous beyond belief.

I can dilute Tommy's response by... simply avoiding confronting him. But I won't. He will hurt. Meredith will hurt. It is unavoidable.

In the future... I do not wish to continue with such a dark tone anymore. I understand that at the end of the day, it is just porn, and I may be overthinking it, but I have to be in the right state of mind to properly execute the scenes, and I do not wish to dwell in this pit for too long. I never truly understood how dark things appear until I reached a point where this topic must be confronted... and now I know."

TLDR:
I plan to release Beta part two in February, Ideally on Valentine's Day. No promises yet, but I will not delay it until March unless I really can't finish it.

From House of Hearts previews, it sounds like some of the LIs may have partners and stuff so I do expect netori elements, but I'd be very surprised if you end up stealing one away from a loving husband and children.

I keep having an issue with chap2_mer_scenes.rpy, get an error saying:
“Parsing the script failed. File "game/scripts/chap2/chap2_mer_scenes.rpy", line 1253: scene statement expects a non-empty block. scene chap2_mers_8b with dissolve :+”
Would anyone be able to explain/help me? I’d love some hints to help me with multiple playthroughs. Thank you!

Someone always gets hurt when you take someone else's girl. The only way for it not hurt, is just for it not to happen. Or if you're sharing the girl. But I am not into sharing. So, if I want the girl, I take her for myself.
