You must've missed the pages of fans expressing their dissatisfaction at the dev announcing that he's moving away from Netori elements in the game before the Season 1 ending. There was a huge fuss about him saying he can't keep working that theme because of his mental health suffering.

He never said that.

He said he won't explore the point of view of the cheated one (the husband) anymore. During Meredith's last scene you were watching the scene from his point of view and you could hear his thoughts of it. He said in literally all the dev logs since that one that there will be other characters with a cheating/netori relation with the protagonist.

You do get to see his reactions, just not his thoughts. Unless you think mind-reading is a requirement for netori.

I wouldn't count on it. The dev has mentioned that he isn't as likely to lean as heavily into the darker elements of netori in the future after doing the last update of GoH.

The relevant text is:

"While yes, this story is fictitious, and absolutely unrealistic, after forcing myself to really dive into the relationship between Meredith and the pain her husband felt... it dawned on me that I wouldn't wish this event to happen to my worst enemy. The thought of your significant other doing this to you is just... horrendous beyond belief.

I can dilute Tommy's response by... simply avoiding confronting him. But I won't. He will hurt. Meredith will hurt. It is unavoidable.

In the future... I do not wish to continue with such a dark tone anymore. I understand that at the end of the day, it is just porn, and I may be overthinking it, but I have to be in the right state of mind to properly execute the scenes, and I do not wish to dwell in this pit for too long. I never truly understood how dark things appear until I reached a point where this topic must be confronted... and now I know."

I plan to release Beta part two in February, Ideally on Valentine's Day. No promises yet, but I will not delay it until March unless I really can't finish it.

From House of Hearts previews, it sounds like some of the LIs may have partners and stuff so I do expect netori elements, but I'd be very surprised if you end up stealing one away from a loving husband and children.

For example, using demon influence to magically corrupt a woman away from a loving, committed relationship with a husband and children is a significantly darker story than seducing a woman away from an abusive relationship in which she's unhappy and that's already on shaky ground. Even more so when the narrative really digs into the partner's perspective, like the end for GoH did.

Based on the devs comments, if there are netori elements in HoH I'd expect it to lean more towards the later type I described above and to limit narrative perspective for the woman's partner.

Maybe I'm just cold-hearted, but I'm with Mav on this one. I really don't care about the feelings of the person I stole her from. If I did, I wouldn't have stolen her. I've said it before and I'll say it again. If my best friend, who is a good person, has a girl I want, I'm taking her. I'm not thinking about, nor do I care about my best friend's feelings. I'm thinking about my own.

So, the only way to avoid it, is to not add it or add in sharing/swinging. Which I am not into at all as I have said. Anyway, just my 2cents.
