Platforming kinda sucks and I get stuck in looping dialogue constantly. Can't even progress after the "boss fight" because I get stuck in dialogue the moment I leave the area.

Nah, the game is completely abandoned. I am just making this new boss stage for fun and not to update the game.
The game is still fully underway, and the reason we are taking a bit long is that it is Christmas season, so us devs spend time with the family and do other stuff, but be rest assured, the game is nowhere near being abandoned.
The next content update will feature the new boss, whose design I am not allowed to show yet~~

We are taking that into consideration. the next boss will be more difficult than what we have previously done because it will be an environmental boss that will test your ability to be evasive and dodge. But even though it is difficult, for me at least, the current version of the boss is really fun and satisfying to beat.
And yes, we will be adding a mechanic where at the end of the entire game, the player will get to choose who they take back home from their adventure as their boyfriend, ~~ or girlfriend ~~. But we are still a long way from the end.

Perhaps, but it really depends on the main artist.
I will perhaps ask if they can cook something up, but it will most likely be a game over scene, rather than something that happens and sticks with you throughout the game.
