yeah i get you, but it’s kinda like asking for a real relationship on grindr story progression of every gay vn so far i’ve played is just more scenes to jerk off rather than something meaningful for the plot. that doesn’t mean there is no game like that at all i guess, but it’s hard to find. i hope you find it tho, best of lucks, and i like that genre too so i understand what you’re through.

Yes, but the games I mention above are different in a sense that they do not lock you on a single route just because you choose to pursue one guy. So, just to briefly sort of summarize about how ORS and GGGB work, so you play as a girl in uni (GGGB you have a bf) but as the story goes you met people and when you meet this people you interact with them (flirting etc), and your decision not only affect your relationship but also the story, like in GGGB you can have cuck route (with varying bulls depending on your choice), pure/cheating route, etc. But here's the thing, even when I say "route", they do not LOCK you or the plot doesn't change. e.g, in GGGB you can hook up with a couple of guys regardless of your "route" and whether your hook up with them or not, it'll affect your story, positively or negatively depending on your other previous decisions.

so basically what I am trying to say is, a game where you follow a story/plotline. Most of non japanese straight games I play tend to do this but they more played as a harem collector rather than your choice matters. GGGB, ORS, Doors, are the perfect example of my perfect VN (that I could remember on top of my head lol).

I think the best gay game example I finally remember is Finding Buddies (I mean it's kinda hard to tell since we're only a few chapters in). Freshmen physical education, I don't remember if they lock you in a route or not, but you do have to make decisions on where to spend your night, I haven't gotten that far yet.

I think the one who commented One more from the top probably summarize what I want. I haven't play it yet tho lol I played it a long time ago but if I remember correctly the graphic was still sketches back then. I might play it again later.

That's the thing, but ORS being so good make me wanted to play more games like it, but gay... the dev of ORS is a woman with no knowledge of manxman relationship so she said she was a bit wary to make a gay arc...
Hvn't played this Our Red Strings or GGGB (No idea what it is).
But For all (Good) VNs I've played that "Choice matters" / "Your choices affect the plots", they all "lock you into a Route" in which the story unfolds entirely different from one the other.
Aka your choices shape how the story goes, but the story is pre-written, not Procedural Generated based on variables.

It might not be apparent at first that you are "pursue one guy", but your choices will converge / have a conclusion at some point. (like when you entering your cuck/pure/cheating route).

Like in UGCP's UmiYama, You can't really tell at first how your choices matter but it will show eventually;
or in Maison you interact with all tenants up until the mid point since you are a dom manager, but the second half you are entering route based on your choices, and all the stories are widely different, not just "who you fuck".

You mentioned hook-up after entering a route, I don't think your choices really matters there, the minor impacts whether you hook up with (side) chars after you entering a route doesn't really affect how the story goes, besides a few lines' differences / or just procedural generated.
Or Are you looking for VNs that don't have "converging point" / "conclusion point" / "Point of no return"?
Don't think those can make good stories, VN or Not.

IMO, "Don't have exclusive story-arc based on your choices" and "Your choices matters" totally contradict each other.

Also, to the other guy, VNs are not Dating Sims. Confusing these two together is why we have so many "harem collector VNs" that're not focusing on story but sexual attentions.

Not to mention it's quite easy to make a VN nowadays leads to the quality all over the place.
I can only think of a few VNs with outstanding quality and really memorable stories, even fewer that's "non-Japanese",
Lemme try: Echo Project's, ...., :KEK:
... Tho "non-Japanese" do have way more "Average" "OK" games. IMO, "Finding Buddies""Freshmen physical education" fall into this category, I don't think the stories are intrinsically interesting even tho the devs claim they are focusing on the story and (Unnecessarily patronisingly) condemns games that focus on porn.
It's just a smaller market (gay) so the quantity on both side is much lower. Kinda silly to claim "It's gay so it's all about scenes to jerk off".

----------------------------------
Come to think about it, all the games you mentioned are kinda "Slice of Life" type of VNs, that focus on "Feeling" and "Relationships"?
Then I'm Biased here since I find this type of VN kinda difficult to be interesting, unless it have exceptional writing that can portrait life in an lively / refreshing way.

You're totally missing my point. I said, " in GGGB you can hook up with a couple of guys regardless of your "route" and whether your hook up with them or not, it'll affect your story, positively or negatively depending on your other previous decisions."

You're not hooking up right as you enter a "route" as there are no route whatsoever, but if you choose to hook up with someone while previously you've been choosing to stay loyal with your boyfriend, it'll result in negative reaction from your boyfriend, but if you've been making your boyfriend a cuck, then you choose to hook up with someone, then you'll get a positive result instead. So choice pretty much matters in a non exclusive story-arc.

It is the exclusive story arc that often choices rarely matter. Take Camp buddy scoutmaster, for example, where once you lock up on Goro or Aiden path, all the choice you have is either Dominant/Submissive (which I still don't get what it does storywise) or Top/Bottom Aiden (which actually just a few percent of topping aiden). Yes, you have an "Illusion" of choice, but in reality, you'll end up with Goro/Aiden or a bad ending (I don't know if camp buddy even has a bad ending, I never got one), and there is not much of consequences of your choice other than "Oh, I'll get a variant cg/ending" or something. Orc Covenant, a game I recently played, fit right to this.

in GGGB, your ending depends on your choices, and who you have a relationship with, your friends even have different endings that are influenced by the choices you make, and it does not depend on whose route you are on because there is no "route", unlike in Orc Covenant that, yes you have multiple endings, but if you choose chieftain, your ending will only lock to chieftain's ending, or like that Japanese butler game I forgot the name.

Come to think about it, all the games you mentioned are kinda "Slice of Life" type of VNs, that focus on "Feeling" and "Relationships"?

Again, it's hard to explain unless you play the game yourself, and see how organic the game was and how your choice matters more than character exclusive.

But then again if you prefer games where 1 character 1 plot, and don't like branching stories, then maybe the games I am looking for is simply not in your repertoire.

By reading comments, it seems her patrons are mostly straight men and bisexual women, so no male gay relationship will happen. It's respectable because some developers are aware of comments like straight women developers are fetishizing/sexualizing gay men hence they make yaoi games for fujoshis on DMM steam page)so Eva is probably avoiding that. She won't even include trans people from GGGB anymore due to negative comments.

It was actually a long time a go someone (I don't remember how many) asked about why she did not included a gay relationship, and that's what she said. She did consider making it a DLC, but that is a very far future, and honestly, she didn't seem that convinced either. And honestly, I agree with you, she should only making something she is comfortable and capable.

Hi, could you please recommend me a game where the gay route is only one of the options. That is, where I can choose to have sex with a man or a woman? Thanks!

This is a very nice game with some nice gay scenes from bisexual men.
Ideal for the request, less for all men who are exclusively into men.
This is my favorite with bisexual content. And trans Adrian in this game is not so bad either. Indeed, this is a game for those who do not like to limit themselves, but do not mind an interesting plot.

Adrian is well-scripted but I don't like her model. The biggest error is that while the author of this game has clearly a fetish for short haired girls, trans girls almost never cut short hair.
