I've realized a while ago but now I had to admit it. This update was a mistake in this shape and form. It's clear to me that I won't make it in time for the 19th either. I'd rather not mark another day as the release date so as not to let this fucking clown show happen again. I'm going to drop it when it's ready, which is exactly what I should've told you last time.

The art is practically done, only CG backgrounds and Mia's faces and Riley's outfits are left. I also started writing the dialogue last week and that's what got me to write this post. Because it was hot garbage.

I've played so many H games with shit endings yet despite knowing plenty bad examples of what it's like when you overdo the thing I planned my game to have 9 endings. A game that's been mostly linear suddenly having 9 endings, which to be fair do overlap but still, it's 9 routes written by someone with little experience. What could go wrong.
I wanted the update to be bigger, better than the previous ones and to serve as a memorable finale. A textbook example of how less would be more because less equals fewer opportunities to fuck up.
The next big mistake was that deep down I also wanted to please everyone. So many comments about how great it is that there's a choice to not be a cuck in a ntr game and boom I was fully on board with doing those routes because the more routes there are the better the game is, right? I think the first storyboard for the update was almost a 50-50 between the overall length of good and bad endings when my original plans back in the day only had the Riley GF route as a good ending.
Don't get me wrong, I still think ntr games can have good endings but they should only be complements, adding a different flavour, a slight refreshing note amidst the degeneracy.

Let me also address that CG in the post. The reveal of the final teaser was supposed to be a glorious moment where upon seeing the image you'll correctly assume that Mia will be subject to a big bang theory and thus get hyped af. This post is anything but glorious yet I wanted to show that pic because I obviously promised to but more so because it's one of the best examples of where my time sinks.
I drew her face 3 times. The first took about 3 hours, pretty bad, right? No matter how I edited it it looked trash.

I spent about 3 hours on it again and would you believe it? I fucking hated it. Nice! The stuff that looks good as a sketch doesn't always work out as lineart.
Thankfully third time's the charm and another 2-3 hours later she had a presentable face. Might be a bit too anime but I don't care.
The point is, stuff like this happens all the time, maybe not to this extreme but there's always something to fix or improve and I only give up on fixing everything once it gets stupidly time consuming.

But all of the above was just related to development time. What I'm actually sorry for is the delays and frustrating you all. It would've been easily avoidable if I just shut up about release dates. Instead I always just set time frames I can't possibly keep, thinking that I would just finesse it somehow and then getting hit by reality that crunching is not a sustainable way of getting shit done quicker.
I thought about why I'm like this and I think it's the fear of not making it. Due to the structure and long dev time of the updates my game only gets exposure for a limited time every once in a while. There's always an influx of patrons then but otherwise the number has remained mostly stagnant. I don't care about making big bucks, only enough to let me go all in on this as a job. But I often feel like the window for that is closing. Most of the successful devs have been successful from the get go. Surely, there's a chance my second game will be well received too but what if it instead only proves further that I'm not cut out for this?
I'm slowly building up my skill but as of now I definitely lack competence. Only having one of those is not enough.

Anyway, this rambling went on for too long. At the end of the day it's yet another delay and me trying to explain shit to seem more sympathetic. Like a freaking youtube apology. Good therapy for me tho. Life's been overwhelming for a while and it just keeps handing me L's.
If I can't drop the game until the end of the month I'll turn off payments.

Good realization. It's a mistake listening to comments about non-NTR routes in an NTR game. The large majority of the paying audience is there for the cucking and not to play a vanilla game. Creating a game aimed at a specific fetish only to then implement routes to bypass interactions with said fetish can't end well.

In a way, the dev realizing this could be a good sign. Them turning off payments if they can't deliver on time is also a good move.

Bummer that the update is getting delayed. From the patreon post it looks like the dude is comparing himself to other successful patreon porn games, but I honestly feel like NTR games are pretty niche, so expectations shouldn't be too high. Although he definitely deserves more than what he has now. I wonder if releasing on Steam for a small price is an option?

El punto es que cosas como esta suceden todo el tiempo, tal vez no hasta este extremo, pero siempre hay algo que arreglar o mejorar y solo dejo de arreglar todo una vez que se vuelve estúpidamente lento.

Pero todo lo anterior solo estaba relacionado con el tiempo de desarrollo. Lo que realmente lamento es los retrasos y frustrarlos a todos. Habría sido fácilmente evitable si simplemente me callara sobre las fechas de lanzamiento. En su lugar, siempre establezco marcos de tiempo que no puedo cumplir, pensando que simplemente lo arreglaría de alguna manera y luego me doy cuenta de que el crujido no es una forma sostenible de hacer las cosas más rápido.
Pensé en por qué estoy así y creo que es el miedo de no lograrlo. Debido a la estructura y al largo tiempo de desarrollo de las actualizaciones, mi juego solo se expone durante un tiempo limitado de vez en cuando. Siempre hay una afluencia de clientes, pero por lo demás el número se ha mantenido mayormente estancado. No me importa ganar mucho dinero, solo lo suficiente para dejarme involucrarme en esto como un trabajo. Pero a menudo siento que la ventana para eso se está cerrando. La mayoría de los desarrolladores exitosos lo han sido desde el principio. Seguramente, existe la posibilidad de que mi segundo juego también sea bien recibido, pero ¿qué pasa si, en cambio, solo demuestra que no estoy hecho para esto?
Poco a poco estoy desarrollando mi habilidad, pero a partir de ahora definitivamente me falta competencia. Solo tener uno de esos no es suficiente.

De todos modos, esta divagación se prolongó durante demasiado tiempo. Al final del día, es otro retraso más y yo tratando de explicar mierda para parecer más comprensivo. Como una maldita disculpa de youtube. Buena terapia para mí aunque. La vida ha sido abrumadora por un tiempo y sigue dándome L's.
Si no puedo abandonar el juego hasta fin de mes, desactivaré los pagos.

While I do generally agree I think there should be room for one small off to the side ending that doesn't involve it (even if it is just a peel off the side that isn't a 'true' ending). Usually ntr and femdom go hand in hand, it could just be a swap of niche fetishes even.

Regardless surprised he had 9 endings planned and that was probably too optimistic, hopefully he learns for when he creates another NTR game just as good :p

I couldn't disagree more. This game is like a breath of fresh air when it comes to NTR games. Most NTR games you go from 0 to cucked in 5 mins and they you just churn through generic NTR content game dev spits out every month or so. I play a lot of different porn game genres and this is the first NTR-focused game that I actually enjoyed playing. Having multiple paths adds depth, makes your choices actually matter.

I cannot explain how cathartic it felt getting non-cuck Riley path.

The dev is getting a little bit stuck in his head when it comes to this game. It has its problems, but just finish it and move on to the next one. Hangover Cat's "The Edge Of" was a mess of shit that was basically a kinetic novel that refused to stop freezing and crashing but they learned a lot from it. Their next effort "A Promise Better Left Unkept" has been much better received and the fanbase has grown accordingly. The first complete game builds into the next game and that is the only way to grow a following. People are more willing to invest in a game when they have reason to believe that the dev will finish what they start.

Question answered, thanks. Looking at the dev's latest update post, it seems they originally wanted to make a (pure) NTR game. Adding non-NTR routes was an afterthought, and it turned out badly as they overwhelmed themselves with work while losing focus on their original vision. That hurts a game / hinders its completion.

If the dev of GGGB planned the game to be this way, catering to as many audiences as possible, then that's entirely fine. It's awesome even. My point is that BootyProfessor got "pressured" into creating content they had never planned to be in the game in the first place. Ever since then, they've been stuck. This led to the latest update post, in which they regret having tried to make everyone happy.

Not adding routes the dev didn't have in mind for the game in the first place will benefit it. Easiest example is "A Promise Best Left Unkept". The dev has a clear vision, sticks to it and delivers incredibly good work for fans of the kink. Your impression of NTR games as "bland" and "generic" might stem from not being into the kink. There's a surprising amount of different facets to it, believe me that die-hard fans of the kink are able to discuss this topic down to little nuances (of which non-NTR routes aren't a nuance).

yeah i agree. i downloaded the game for the cuck content, but the fact that this is one of the few games that gives you also a vanilla route and makes you choose different types of netorare experience makes it much more exciting.
the difference between cuckoldry and NTR is the consent and willingness of the protagonist. i think that having impactful choices is important for this genre of games. the fact that you're able to see the lovey-dovey side of Riley makes her NTS/femdom route better too.

I agree. Most NTR games are, frankly, low effort. The best ones are ones with pretty good characters/writing and goes more in depth into the emotions of the MC and the other characters involved. Like, we know from the non-cuck Riley path that there's always been something there between the two. And, on the cuck path I think it'll feed into their relationship. Meaning that Riley sees that the MC likes it and so she'll pounce on that opportunity
