Unfortunately I cant define most as I am merely paraphrasing a statement made by psychologist. Mathematically speaking it means the greatest amount so assuming there are only those who seek self insertion and those that dont at least 51 percent of people. However the statement is true irrespective of the gender of the character. I made the statement because the person I was responding to was disregarding the other person's self insertion argument as irrelevant. Self insertion extends past physical features and into whether or not the observer can identify in part or in whole with the character.Define most.
But sure, you're making a valid point. Many players indeed want to identify with the MC, at least to some degree.
However, I think it's important to mention, that most (like 90%+) porn games with a female protagonist are actually made for male players. That's also the case for Glamour. They aren't made for female players to self insert, but rather for male players to "guide" the female character into all kinds of lewd situations.
That doesn't necessarily contradict your point, but some people seem to have a hard time accepting that.
