Version 0.11 Offline: In a word - Terrible. In more words: Part Time Maid Simulator 2018, subtitle: You might see some naked people.
Big Brother was a great game with some grave flaws. But also some things it did very right that a lot of other lewd games failed at. Glamour on the other hand, does all of those things immediately wrong. Let me list a few examples:
Lewd: What Big Brother did very right was, it let the player be very lewd right from the start, spying on his, uh, co-tenants, with a danger of getting caught, and the various quests served to increase the amount of lewd that these actions would yield. Many games fail at creating a lewd atmosphere right from the start, where everything you do in the game basically only serves to increase the lewd yield. Case in point: Glamour. There is nothing lewd to do all day, no boundary to push, no sleeping people to molest. An absolute boner-killing snorefest.
Interface: The interface of Big Brother was clean, sleek and efficient, it let you jump to every relevant location immediately. Glamour on the other hand lets you navigate an annoying labyrinth of locations, in none of which anything is happening. Furthermore, the dev AGAIN repeated his mistake of emulating a renpy interface in Unity, which means all problems with the interface are acerbated by it's infuriating sluggishness, which only seems to have increased since Big Brother.
Now what things did Big Brother do wrong? Mostly, what people call "The Grind", by which people mean the fact that most quests can only be progressed once every few days or once a week even. This is further complicated by the circuitousness of the plotlines. A plot may not continue at all until you complete a completely unrelated plot. And unlike Big Brother, you cannot as easily fast forward through the days until the next event triggers, because of the sluggish interface and the banality simulator day schedule. This means, the Grind is even worse, and much more infuriating.
But the game also manages to introduce entirely new design mistakes. It is, most of all, horribly overwritten. Every character, without exception, will throw 100s of lines of dialogue at you at the slightest provocation. There is no lewd shit as a reward for reading this crap. DS' writing was serviceable enough in Big Brother, but in Glamour, it's so much useless shit and you want to shout at the game "SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GET ME TO THE LEWDS" at every single character after a while.
There really is only one thing that Glamour does right, and it's a thing Big Brother had too - Good, crisp renders, of models that don't look undead abominations, like many other games. This is of course so because Daz3D doesn't do facial expressions other than "Blank, soulless smile" very well, and many devs make the mistake of trying to give their models some sort of facial dynamic, which just makes them look like horrible abominations. So the dev resorted to simply giving everyone the same vacuous stare in every frame, ever.
In the end, this is complete shit, boring, tedious, and worst of all, unfappable because there is simply nothing to fap to. Waste of time, pass.
1 out of 5 because of the crisp renders
