got the same bug, game stops right after the flash animation, after finding the gold in the basement.
version 0.42.8 based on imported 0.42.6 saves, will try restart from scratch next.
no error msg, game just stops during transition.

It happened to me, if you are skipping the dialog it happens.

tried a fresh-from-scratch replay to make sure it's not old saves, and the new play still had the same effect. i don't usually skip dialogue;i just hit Enter for it to progress, because it doesn't keep going on auto, and i found no setting for auto play, (is there even a skip button?) so, not sure what went wrong. disabled a few effects like flashing, and reduced battle speed, with no different outcome, looks like the game stalls in the middle of a transition. strange enough there's no error message at all. it just halts.
*edit* had to fiddle with settings some more: lowering text speed (anything lower than 10) and enabling lightning effects, for just this one appearance, did the trick for me in the end.

The password is not on page 24, it is literally "on page 24".

I've seen this mentioned many times on here and I didn't realize the password was literally the words "on page 24" rather than being on page 24. I can see how this could be confusing. I am guessing this was intentional based on the dev's sense of humor.The password is not on page 24, it is literally "on page 24".
