This is not how you develop a game. If the developer had planned to have gay content it should of been in the future tags. No, the way it is done is like a betrayal. Hey I know you all now like and hooked on my game now I am going to throw Gay into it! You just don't do that with any game you have developed you already got your audience now you just don't go doing stupid things that so many developers here like to do and destroy their games.
1. Change character appearance
2. Change game engine
3. Add new genres especially controversial ones that don't fit the story.. harem with gay does not fit
4. Add grind if game was not grindy
5. Change to a kinetic novel if a VN
6. Change entire game because of a few whiners like a brothel game being called NTR so changes entire story
You as a developer has now already developed your audience now don't go changing the entire game! This is what makes games fail by update 2 or 3 you have pretty much cemented the game on it's path and you don't go changing things about it at that point.
It has gotten so bad that now people won't support games until it has had 10-20 updates because they are afraid of getting screwed. I support about 5 or 6 games only for this very reason as I got tired of being screwed by developers that change the entire damn game in some way shape or form after providing hard earned dollars to support it.
The majority of bad developers have ruined it for the few good ones. Now I only support because of this type of crap.
1. Developer that has actually finished or nearly finished an actual game (not some stupid trainer or that but actual game play)
2. If it's a dating sim type of game it must have at the very least (tracker, sound effects, background music, good UI, animation)
3. If it's a story based than it must have at the very least (tracker, sound effects, music, static images, good UI, good story)
4. If it's a Sex Simulator or Puzzle it must have (animation, voice effects, sex sounds, great art, good game play)
If it's a game with no story it better have the requisites or I don't touch the game as there is many better games out there. Dating sims and sex simulators are a dime a dozen and only the good ones get my attention. If it's a parody type than the characters better look like the characters they are parodying and keep their personality. Lately developers have forgotten that if your trying to get support on sites like Patreon or that you have to be better than the rest and provide content that your followers of games enjoy otherwise you chase away the ones supporting it to just to get a few more subscribers you lose way more than you gain. It's all reputation based.
Good Developer:
1. You most likely won't make anything on your first game you have to prove that you will finish what you started.
2. Don't change what your followers enjoy. Get a bad reputation for remakes and such and nobody will support you
3. Don't add controversial content after you have already developed the game it chases away your followers
4. Don't change your characters appearance unless it is obviously bad and MAJORITY of players request it
5. Always have some sort of tracker (when updates may come out slow them are reminders to player what they have done)
6. Don't insult your followers
7. Don't be wishy washy (if for example game is a brothel that is not NTR don't let others say it. It was a job in the past)
It is sad that the majority of developers seem to be in the other camp on this site lately. I download a new game play it for 5 minutes and delete it.. it's so bad.
