I mean lets be real surely you can understand why they find some of it annoying tbh even i do with the MC he is in one of two modes "self pity" or some form of that or some idiot who for whatever reason feels he needs to keep teasing everyone he talks to in a annoying way then gets shocked at the reactions he gets. There is some growth for the others but the MC is very lacking
No, I don't understand for 1 simple reason: this game doesnt take itself seriously and neither should the people playing it. This is pseudo-parody of anime tropes with several direct and indirect references. Sure, there are moments of drama, but they are the exception.
Do you go watch a comedy like American Pie, and then go "oh, movie is bad because the main character acts like a dumbass"? No, because you understand that's the whole point. Whether you find it funny or not is a whole different story, but the characters act the way they do to amuse you.
I see so many people do this on their reviews. Come into a game expecting something completely different than what the dev is going for, and then complain the game isn't what they wanted. Not every game needs to be a soap opera. There are several genres of VNs, just like there are genres of television. Just pick the one that suits your particular tastes and THEN judge if it succeeds on what it's trying to do.
