Moar Tweet

Tweet said:
I got excited for a second, but then I realized these are probably just for the affection and control stats. Which should still be exciting to mess with, except it's easy to keep them maxed. I guess some of the NG+ carryovers really can be gamebreaking in that sense.

And of course, as a connoisseur of fine brainwashing, I need to point out that if you can't get Affection Up and Control Up going at the same time, you're doing mind control wrong. (Edit: This isn't a criticism of the dev/design, just a cheeky "git gud at proper brainwashing" joke.) After a certain point, the two should be one and the same... although I suppose at that point you'd no longer need these spells. But you'd still use them for fun, of course.

...This will probably make more sense in context.

Haha, yes. Now excuse me while I perform a ritual to access Melos's knowledge for unrelated reasons. *Looks up "monkey mode" on Urban Dictionary.*

If only she didn't look so miserable. This is why you gotta intertwine the affection and control spells, people. Hopefully she's just too out of it to express how happy she is. Or the fun hasn't started yet and she's just collapsing after a long day of hard work. "I'm fucking done, boss, just hypnotize me and get it over with."

Oh, come on, she wasn't even hypnotized! We were just having a conversation about treasure that took a really weird turn!

Well, my sleep schedule's way off, but it's almost 7 so I'll just wait to post the next Tweet and go straight to b--

Hi there. I have an update for you today, version 8.2! It should have a decent amount of changes and content that people should be interested in.
Welp.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Edit: Alright, first bug. I was able to learn "The Beat Goes On" immediately after learning Grace, which should be *kinda* impossible with the "have the Grace status 8 times" requirement.

Edit 2: [Fixed known Curses gained through Shrines not being automatically revealed when applied.] Apparently not. Just took Suggestive on all my knights and got ???.

Edit 3: The encounter log for the new maid says "made the angry maid even angrier" when it flees.

Edit 4: "Destroyed a set of tea in front of a maid" gives a pangram error. Been a while since I saw him.

Alright, aside from the bug reports I edited into my previous post, here's my response to the newest update:

Not mentioned in the changelogs: Characters now have actual dialogue when you talk to them in your tent. I wonder if they'll be added to the trance talks as well. Not that it would be scintillating conversation, but it's always nice to hear a girl murmur in trance. ...Especially since there's now a "call and response" action that apparently has them canonically doing this.

So, Actions... I'm not entirely sure I understand how they work? It looks like some of them are unlocked if you have the knight's desires (not drives) above a certain point, although I'm not sure what unlocks the mantras (just a certain level of control?), and I haven't found anything beyond those ones. Unless you count a special portrait that appears when you have a certain two active at a time. (Incidentally, Lucette and Elli look much less miserable than Raine. Can we get her a pillow, at least?)

The tutorial mentions some hidden actions being scenes in their own right, but there are none implemented yet, right? And they'll be in the "unseen events" list when they are? Or should I be searching for something now?

I think "visualize" and "end visualize" are supposed to be mutually exclusive, based on some of the others, but I can choose "visualize" while it's already active. ...Err, sometimes? I'm not sure what causes it.

And obviously, there *has* to be an event that plays when you have the Suggestive curse embraced on a knight who has the Favor Mantra or Control Mantra and hang out with another knight. I'm going to assume that was cut for time despite being the top priority for everything ever.

Lucette stimulation scene: (y) I normally only care for scenes related to mind control, but it feels like I'm using a pleasure trigger on her, and I technically *did* brainwash her into that state. (No, Eschahn, I'm not giving you credit for this one.)

I can't seem to trigger Lucette's other scene, though. The hint suggests it might be random, but... I have left a LOT of monsters unkilled on this last run, so if that's not supposed to be random, you might want to check it for bugs. Edit: Yeah, definitely either a bug, unclear directions, or an unreasonably low random chance. Even save scumming the camp after leaving floor 9 practically untouched isn't doing anything.

There seem to be a lot of typos in the new shadow monster's text, especially the Lucette Addled scene.

Edit: Typo. "Who in their right min would keep a box full of slime?"

In general there do seem to be a good amount of typos in this update though, unfortunately. Not a big deal when it's just text, but when typos actually break things (like... All of your previous post's edits), it does kinda suck. When you're adding a bunch of text in a whole bunch of places, if you have even a small error rate, it ends up magnified. This update's error rate just seems to be a bit higher than usual. :HideThePain:

Okay, so if I call Lucette to my room in the first two time slots, that should have a 75% chance as long as I meet the requirement? One, two, three... ten. Okay, I either don't meet the requirements or there's a bug. And if THIS doesn't meet the requirements after nine floors, they probably need to be adjusted:

...Me no speak code, but should that space before the colon after "requirements" be there? Edit: Yeah, just checked some other code you posted and I'm thinking it's not supposed to be there.

Because it's a percentage of remaining difficulty, you can't get more than 10 chaos (100% of threats were not cleared) from a single floor, but I'm assuming you're speaking more in general and that you didn't full clear every previous floor.
So I can have a look, but at a glance everything checks out data-wise.

White space characters outside of quotes (strings) don't matter in these files (json). It's all removed when the data is read in/parsed by they game so that it can actually do code stuff. You could put 100 spaces, tabs, or new lines between parts of the data and it wouldn't make any difference.

I did leave most things throughout the run. Just cleared floor 10 with only one threat disarmed (it was in a dark room and I didn't have scry), and still no scene after five Lucette invites. Surely that 9th floor had more than 60% of its threats left. I've included my save file at camp on the final day.

Needing to leave 1.5 floors worth of stuff uncleared does seem kind of steep, though.

When the girl get into any event room there is no dialog box with event text.
I have to go into event log to read about it.
Is it working as intended or something is messed on my side?
Because it would be natural to have event text displayed rather than only available for review in log.

On the bottom of the event log is a pair of buttons. One of them says "Automatically display new events" or something like that. Turn that on. I do agree that it should be on by default, though.

Great game, art is unique (not in a bad way), writing/story is good, scenes seem to be good but I've yet to get to some good stuff in them.

Two things that make this game tedious/bad as porn: dark room mechanic and permament corruption causing game over. I have not experienced a game over yet, so I will talk about the dark rooms - after about 5-7 floors, micromanagement got annoying so I've started using auto play, but then you have to scry every dark room where someone has an encounter and you can't do that because it has 20 turns cooldown, even if it had no cooldown using it would be a pain in the ass missing initial encounter.

Please make the scenes visible.

What is the porn goal of the game? To corrupt knights and make them cocksleeves for monsters in the dungeon?
Can mc fuq 'em without corruption and dungeon rape?

tl;dr: Dungeon is just shenanigans. Camp has both consensual and mind control scenes between the good guys. Still early, may change, will definitely expand.

In the current version, at least, the dungeon stuff is just "sexy dungeon shenanigans", and letting them get fully corrupted is just a game over with no "bad ending" (currently). There is content with the girls back at camp where you can spy on them having sexy times with each other or masturbating, plus you have your own mind control powers that you can use to manipulate them, although currently the only sexy scenes directly related to that mostly involve groping them while they're in trance. There are also relatively mundane scenes where you can chat with the girls at camp dating-sim-style, one of which involves a kiss, and will probably lead to more consensual sexy times in the future.

Just started this game and it looks very promising. I had a couple questions though on some things I wasn't quite sure about, this game throws a lot of info at you, and since I saw that the Dev is active here I figured I'd ask

Question 1: I see a mention of new game+ here and I was wondering if that meant this version had an ending, and by that I mean if there was a final floor that once reached would trigger the next run or if you only get to new game+ when you get a game over or abandon the current run?

Question 2: Is there any way to see the favorability scores for the girls? Since a couple scenes specifically need a certain amount of it I thought there would be some way to keep track but I can't seem to find it, though I could just be missing it. Also what exactly gives you positive favorability? When you talk to the girls in your tent and you get the message "she seems to be enjoying the conversation" or something like that does that increase favorability? Or is it just through the specific scenes with each girl?

Thanks in advance for any answers and I look forward to future updates.

It has an "Okay, you've won, do NG+ now" point, yes. It's not an "ending" yet, and the game will have more floors when there's enough content to justify them. Game Over also unlocks NG+.

Can't answer much about the second question except that I'm pretty sure them enjoying the conversation does increase favor, and I'm pretty sure there's no easy way to check what they're at. It certainly doesn't rely entirely on the scripted scenes, especially since I don't think there are even enough of them yet to boost favor by a significant amount.

It would be nice to have a comprehensive section in the game that contains all the info from the tutorials, my main issue that kills my interest is the tutorial length. I get bored and subsequently stop paying attention during the tutorials, so I only wind up retaining some of the info. Even just being able to replay specific tutorials would be helpful.

I basically set the game to auto because I have no clue what I'm actually supposed to be doing to achieve any specific goal. Lack of save slots prevents me from learning by trial and error without having to sacrifice all progress; the tutorials being in fixed parts of the game means I can't refer back to them when I stumble across anything I either forgot about or didn't pay attention to during a tutorial.

It is frustrating, because from what I'm reading it looks like other people are able to cause interesting things happen, while I feel like nothing I do actually has any impact because I don't even know where to begin with trying to accomplish any specific goal beyond "Get to the next floor".

It feels like trying to solve a 1500-piece puzzle when you can only see 5 of the pieces at a time, you don't know what the whole picture looks like, and someone randomly changes out the pieces you can see each time you touch a single piece (touching a piece in this case being equivalent to pushing any button that triggers a single action, you're faced with a new set of interactions). It is possible for me to learn it like that, but I'd probably wind up spending at least 15 hours of pure frustration as I'm cudgeling my brain into memorizing everything I see. Having a centralized location for all the explained mechanics would be the equivalent of letting me actually see all the pieces at once as well as being able to check what the picture is supposed to look like when complete, then I can start the fun process of actually putting together the puzzle (ie, playing the game).

I suppose this is as good a time as any to point to the latest tweets from the dev.

For supporters, I've wrote up a devlog/retrospective look at the work for the previous update along with some preview for stuff planned to come up next!
And for non-supporters, I suppose I can at least put up one of the images from that post. Though it's not the only thing talked about in there!

(Maybe I'm wrong about what that tab is for, though.)

Though I will say that you shouldn't worry too much about "losing all progress" through trial and error. It's a rogue-lite, which means you're supposed to die and start over a lot, and the most important types of progress carry over. The actual game itself is quite short once you get the hang of it (in the current version, at least), and there's not that much that can only be seen in the later floors.

The characters in this are cute and the idea is interesting, but unfortunately not my type of game. Anyone have a full save file so I can take a look at the events in the research?

The exact number for Favorability isn't surfaced anywhere currently, although the current favorability requirements for scenes aren't incredibly restrictive I don't believe. Characters start between 2 to 2.5. They gain small amounts from you clearing floors, enjoying tent conversations, spending time slots with them, and some events.

(Maybe I'm wrong about what that tab is for, though.)
You're not.
