It's not the same as a company churning out another slop of regurgitated content with battlepasses and micros, or indie team devs spending years to make a 2-bit game for the sake of money.

Unfortunately every field has nuance and the reality of making shit like this is the requirement of expensive hardware, time and skills. That's why it takes time.

I'm not hotheaded at all, and while I'm not a creator on the creative side, I am a developer, and I understand this isn't a job — it's a hobby. But that's the problem. The moment you create a Patreon and a person decides to support you, you have a responsibility toward that person as a developer. It's pretty shameless to do what this guy is doing.

In my opinion, the product is mediocre, unfinished, and shows no sign of ever being finished — with yearly updates that are also very underwhelming. Who knows how much money he's raking in? Of course people pay voluntarily, but I understand the feeling of being scammed when you give just barely enough — the bare minimum — to keep people hopeful about the project and willing to keep paying, while deep down you know you don’t care about the project and are never going to finish it.

You even said yourself it’s not on Steam. Well, even if it’s ridiculous to report anything here, at least I’m trying. Tell me another website where people can be made aware of what they’re actually getting into.

All these games on Steam get heavily criticized for stuff like this. And on Steam, you pay once and get free updates from there. It’s not the same as having people anxiously waiting on Patreon, getting basically nothing in return. Sure, there’s a lot of pirated stuff on F95, but I have supported devs through this site — devs who do have a real project, with a business vision and actual intent to finish.

Then, of course, there’s the classic “family issues” or “personal problems” card, which you can use to pause your project in front of your backers without anyone being allowed to question it. But that’s another issue.

Even if people laugh at you for speaking out — don’t stop trying to make the world better, and don’t let others take advantage of people.

98% of the games in this site are trash!!! using the same assets, same characters, same stories, same animations. For me, this one really stands out from the others. Just look at the level of detail ,this is AAA quality. You mentioned Rockstar? To me, this is Rockstar-level work done by a single person in his free time. Don’t underestimate how much effort it takes to create high-detail characters, make them interact, and animate them properly.

You said that a lot of devs try to trap people into investing and then disappear ,and you’re right. But you also forget that people like you are part of the problem, because you consume a product you didn’t pay for and still complain. I’m sure that even if the game was amazing, you’d never give a dollar to the creator. And then you’d still be bitching because the new update takes too long to come out. That’s why many devs don’t finish their games. They pour in so much time and effort only to see people criticizing !! because it’s porn, because people are used to consuming porn for free on the internet.

So mate, relax, go fap a little, and stop pretending to be a philosopher and giving lessons to people who sometimes give 10–15 dollars a month. It’s not going to ruin or destroy anyone’s life. I won’t say 98%, but easily 80% of the games you can download here are trash and borderline scams, hiding behind “voluntary” payments. And yes, this game definitely falls into that 80%. It doesn’t even matter if the game ends up being good at this point — I’m talking about completely toxic practices that we need to avoid. How do we fight that? By warning newcomers and stopping support for these things — and YES, supporting the ones that actually deserve it.

I honestly admire having such a great hobby like creating a game from scratch, even if it’s about this topic. But if it’s a hobby and you enjoy doing it in your free time — then don’t charge me on Patreon. If you do charge, then it’s not a hobby anymore, you’re selling a product. Hahaha, because even though this is a website for degenerates, it’s also a forum with people you can talk about and share opinions with. You're absolutely right — it's a pathetic topic and I should be fighting for more important causes, and I do try.

But the reality of this site is that a large number of users are underage. A friend of mine recently had issues with his son after discovering he was spending money on this. It's not the end of the world — it’s not theft or a crime — but still, we don’t really know how many people on here have a tendency to spend money they don’t have, or that isn’t even theirs.

It just makes me sick to see certain practices in this little, infamous corner of the world. It may be small, but it does move something. I made a comment about it — without naming anyone — just to share my view. And seeing people not only spending their money, but also encouraging others to spend on the same failed product really pissed me off.

But hey, you’re right — there are more important things, and everything’s already been said, so there’s no need to keep pushing it.

Thanks — it's literally just like you said, it's crazy. I don't think they're all bot accounts, honestly. You’d have to be seriously unhinged and have way too much free time for that. It's just toxic people who feel scammed and want you to fall for it too so they can feel better about themselves, honestly.

And the developers also know that their games get a lot of visibility here, and that there are many, many users under 21 who are easier to mislead. If on top of that there are users promoting their stuff, then yeah — it’s a real problem.

On Patreon they don't say anything because those people are already paying — what’s there to say? In fact, that’s where they get criticized the most if the dev does something people don’t like.
