In most of these games, I'd wholeheartedly agree, but in a game like GGGB the beauty of it is that this replaying is a breeze - as it should be (and usually was in the asian VNs of old).
Many titles are sadly built upon a grinding mechanism, and when you have to grind stats and money and can never be sure whether you have seen everything you could technically have triggered, it's a nightmare. If you constantly have to make decisions (on where and what to grind), skip-mode becomes highly unfeasible.
In GGGB, you can keep that CTRL button pressed to breese to the next decision or bit of text you haven't read yet.
Or, if you haven't played in a while and are so inclined, you can also read it again. I really like that.
