I think the answer is yes and no. No in that you can play each part as a stand alone. Yes in that if you do play each part as a stand alone, you will miss a ton of things that you might not want to miss.

Much better to start at the beginning and work your way through it.

I do think there are saves for each part on the OP, so that you do not have to play each part. but I could be wrong.

I dunno what software or system you're using to make the update patches Mooney but it still seems like there are an absolute stack of redundant files in every one. When you're replacing over 1200 files sharing the same name... surely you aren't making such extensive changes to the game with every update. The fact you seem to package all of the Renpy software files in every one is where i suspect the majority of this unnecessary doubling up of files comes from. Or maybe there is more to this than i know and i am simply making a false assumption. I've seen many other dev's update patches only containing images and script updates and their updates are no larger than yours in in-game content.

You are correct that this update patches contain renpy engine files that don’t have to be include (except if renpy or python version changed).
I think I mentioned that before when we were in Part 2 or so. As update patches without engine files are universal for both PC and Mac.
But now to say that it doesn’t really matter as the files that are dublicate are the renpy engine files and they are just around ~50 MB IIRC. So it basically only matters for moon as he need to upload one mor patch.
