How is Jamila "super, super, super forced" as the mom character, it's been explained more than once that she has been more or less a surrogate mother to the MC since his parents died?

She's no more forced than any of the other in The Magnificent 7!™.

Just because her role is explained by something that happened off-screen more than a decade ago doesn't mean it's natural. We're not eased into this dynamic. The intro tells us that our mother died in an accident and that Allison basically raised the MC. For all intents and purposes, Nana is our second mother. Then we meet some random woman that took care of us sometimes and it's like: "Oh hey, I guess you're my mother now" while we barely see her, and when we do, it's some corny hugfest where the game repeatedly hammers the mother/son delusion by referring to her as "your mother" on every other line while she constantly calls you "son" instead of a pet name a mother would actually use for her son. No other real family member in the game does this or talks like this.

Again, I don't even dislike Jamila as a character. I just find the constant mother/son reaffirmation very overbearing, like she's a side-character being assimilated into the family while we tiptoe around the fact that she's just a friend of the family.

At this point I'd find it less weird if the game sent us to find the seven Dragon Balls in order to revive our real mother from the grave. Now that would be cinema

The "random woman" who is MC's best friend's Mother? She's also a close friend of his Grandmother.
You find it strange that he views her as a 2nd Mother, or that she holds him in similar regard to her own biological son?
I have close friends where I am very close with their Mother, I am called a "second son" by one of them. So it's not at all strange to me.
But different strokes for different folks and all that.

Jamila is a "random woman" in the sense that we (the reader) have to believe she's a mother figure to the MC just because the game said so, with none of that dynamic translating naturally into the writing. Saying "Oh but she's a close friend" isn't a strong enough reason to base their entire relationship around a fake mother/son roleplay.

Maybe you didn't spend the time to read completely and carefully, in order to understand the personality of both the MC and Jamila.

After his parents death, the MC was moved to go live with Allison.

Jamila, being a mother of several kids, the youngest of them is Omar, MC's best friend, was also a good friend of both Anne, MC's mother, and Allison. She developed a strong connection to that orphan boy that she had also being the Nanny of.

On the MC's part, during his grief period, mourning his mother, father and sister disappearance, he leaned into this "Mother" creating between them a real bond.

So, no, Jamila is NOT a random woman.

Do they lay it on VERY thick? Both feel it VERY deeply (I would bet that Jamila feels it deeper than the MC, LOL).

Did you miss the fact that she constantly calls him "Habibi"? That is her pet name for him.
Arabic term of endearment, used exclusively for males, for family, close friends, or romantic partners.

The dynamic in their relationship is clearly established in the game. It seems that you also missed this, somehow.

It's not "fake" to them. She sees him as a son & he sees her as a Mother figure. So it's not "roleplay", it's something they genuinely feel. Guess you missed this, too.

I love the Oreilly clan. Only one I didn’t keep was the ex girlfriend and Betty but somehow I still had a Betty visit when her truck had issues and she came to the shop and accidentally did it in the back hole. I played one version where the mistress cop had a wonder woman outfit but in another version she was wearing a skimpy cop outfit . I’m reallllly waiting for Amelia to join in the fun. I wanna play through and just focus on the main family and a few others but it seems like they all intertwine with each others stories so for now I’m doing almost all of them. Some more scenes with aiko, Debby and Zelda would be good too. This game ,my dorm , heart problems , univ of prob, university days , sexbot and wvm have been in my top 12 rotation for a while now . Love the background scenes in this game. Didn’t notice them all until the 2nd play through

What's the multipatch?

Walkthrough & incest patch in one. I believe it also fixes some bugs. Usually you also need it to continue playing if you've also used it in the past, otherwise you get an error.

Normally the new version is release within a day, so I have no problem waiting for a couple more hours

Didn't know that's a thing actually. I just noticed there is a walkthrough, and I've been copying the incest patch from one version onto the next, since it's just the names for the relationships being changed in the rels.rpy file. I remember the patch for Part 1 being somehow different, and with this one working for everything from Part 2 onward, but I can't remember what the patch for Part 1 actually was.

I just noticed there is a walkthrough, and I've been copying the incest patch from one version onto the next, since it's just the names for the relationships being changed in the rels.rpy file. I remember the patch for Part 1 being somehow different, and with this one working for everything from Part 2 onward, but I can't remember what the patch for Part 1 actually was.

Yeah, the files linked under "WALKTHROUGH MOD*" are the only ones you need if you want to use both the incest patch and the walkthrough. If I'm not mistaken it's even endorsed by Moonbox, the dev of this game.
