Bruh if pixiv is getting the boot I am sure whoever is behind the banning is going to actively target subcribestar at this point and i would not be suprised if they too have to ban nsfw content probably have to tell your favourite artist to move to a different platform again
Gonna go out on a limb here and assume it's because Paypal also was their Credit Card Processor. Fanbox still accepts Credits Cards and if you go Japanese VPN + Japanese you can still use Japanese Payment providers.
Wouldn't affect Subscribestar.adult as they never used Paypal as payment processor.
If anything that would affect Patreon. I'm gonna laugh if they did all that censorship and rules grab and still lose Paypal support maybe they will realize it will never be enough no matter how low you bow.
Gumroad has the same problem any payment is processed through Stripe or Paypal.
If anything that is a good thing, maybe they get a payment processor that let's them change their latest silly changes and revert some bans.

Also I still had a chance on the Pixiv Premium free month so I just turned off guro and R18 in the filters, signed up for premium and set the filters back.
Worked flawless, gotta wait to see if Pixiv is gonna cancel me lol.(I'm not interested in Premium but I wanted to see if that works).
Oh hey I never knew you get a 3 month discount on Clip Studio pro through Pixiv.......maybe it's not completely useless

I am also hearing that artist can also use (wise) which is similar to paypal to recieve there payments from supporters but i am sure that they will also be affected soon enough. The main part to all of this is that pixiv literally told paypal to kick rocks and allowed their artist have creative freedom and not cave into thier new policies. Only time will tell if patreon also kick the boot but NSFW accounts for 20% of there revenue per year so if they eventually do ban NSFW artist they will move to subscribestar. If they do move it gonna be a pain in the ass for scrapers like kemono to get their works easily but hey its a worthy sacrifice i guess.

Paypal and Stripe processors have always been risky for adult content. These two companies only accept the Big Guys and will ban any individual entrepreneur with low sales volume. Perhaps cumroad is no longer in the premier league of adult content providers. Fingers crossed for Patreon and Itch...

On the other hand, I still have SubscribeStar and Erobits, which don't use PP/Stripe, so they look like a safe haven to me.

Erobits.....that one is new to me thanks. Seems they don't have many content restrictions either <3

I looked at their selling page, and saw that take 50% from net revenue. Is that accurate to how you experience selling on it?
If you refer customers to the store through your affiliate link, you get extra commissions on your own games and other products. That's how 50% turns into 80% on my own products + affiliate earnings from the entire store.

Well well well Pixiv have officially banned payments for users overseas:cautious:

You missed the line where they said that they are actively working to reintroduce it (what mean that it's not their decision and that they want it to be as temporary as possible), or are you just not caring about facts to feel good about yourself ?

"From Subscribestar.adult
PLEASE, BE AWARE: due to an extremely high volume of recently submitted profiles, the approval will take longer than usual. After this page is approved, you will be able to subscribe as usual. We appreciate your patience and understanding."

Seems Patreons "clarifications" did leave quite a few people hanging dry. Anyone moving away from Patreon is a good thing though. Just hope that doesn't put Subscribestar too much into focus for the puritans.

I also hope Pixiv will go back on their changes(or at least most of them) to allowed content now that Paypal is gone anyways and the AI Elephant in the room is reined in. (Especially that silly 3D banning spree).
Maybe all in all this whole mess with Gumroad and Patreon isn't such a bad thing.

From today, the following payment methods are available to those living outside Japan:
・Credit card payments
・Google Play and App Store payments within the pixiv app
* Carrier payments and ticket payments will remain available to those with their pixiv language set to Japanese.

PayPal payments continue to be unavailable.

Don't know, but Google and Apple have basically same restriction as Paypal or not?

Yeah I already mentioned the fact that they are gonna reintroduce credit card payments for overseas customers in my original quote.

It seems after clarification, pixiv said for fanbox only that people who never used PayPal on the platform can’t signup anymore so artists essentially can’t get new customers but the ones who already had PayPal payments (existing customers) can still use it. But they didn’t mention anything about credit card payments and I have tested paying using my card on a random artist I follow on pixiv and it still works so my guess only new customers can’t sign up using PayPal and credit card payments still work.

As for pixiv commissions/request, there is no options at all to pay for overseas customers for both credit card and PayPal as far as I have seen.

Lastly, Pixiv premium doesn’t allow you to subscribe for overseas customers but there is a work around.
1. VPN in Japanese (Not mandatory but preferred)
2. Switch location to Japan in pixiv settings.
3. Turn off the R18 feature on pixiv.
4. Then signup for Pixiv premium with your credit card.
5. Turn the R18 feature back on and your good to go.

Yeah exactly what I was thinking seems they have now fully clarified

This is definitely a bad thing! More censorship, less platforms, more pressure on those who still accept payments.
Well let me clarify that. It is definitely a bad thing but the more people realize that you can't play ball with these CC/Processor companies as Patreon tries to do the better.
Adult content is a significant market that should use that market power to show that it's worth fighting against censorship.
As such I think it's good that Subscribestar gets more Creators.

Yeah those it seems they did the switch to a new (probably wise) processor. Hello Gumroad  that is what you should have done for your artists.....

What will be the new meta from now on?
Completely safe for work with nsfw mods/patches outside, here probably?
I would not care at all on making 2 versions of my game just to never have to worry about being banned again from any payment processors or site, but that would be very hard for new creators.

A while ago I would have said. Go for a Subscribestar(Or others) and a Patreon Version, since Patreon was lenient on that.
Now with the "Clarifications" go for any site that does not rely on the crappy Processors. Screw Patreon and leave them in the dust, let them suffer for their bending over. The Adult Portion of their income is still not insignificant.
But that is also just the perspective of a customer/Hobbyist with no real financial dependencies, I know if your livelyhood depends on things it's way different.
Still in the end this will never stop as long as America is involved. So, just like Fanza or Pornhub, at some point there is no other way then to put down your feet and draw the line.

You're missing the point.

You said that "Pixiv have officially banned payments for users overseas" [emphasis is mine], while using a screenshot explicitly showing that it wasn't their decision, and therefore not their ban, and that it was not explicitly targeting overseas users.

Have some payment processors been unusable ? Yes.
Was it Pixiv decision ? No.
Was it mostly affecting overseas users ? Yes.
Were none overseas users also affected ? Yes.
Was it explicitly to affect overseas users ? No.
Was what you wrote pure bullshit ? Yes.
Was it intentional bullshit ? Well, only you know...
